You probably have good reasons to use ISOs, but if you dont (:D) why not grab a linux box, mount the isos to/isos/isoXX, share/isos with samba and copy everything across?
700MB * 200 ISOs = 140GB
140GB / 1 Gb/sec = 19 min.

Yeah, and why bother with edible oranges, when we already have edible apples?
That would be the laptop manufacturers. They are under threat of an increase of Linux's already high licensing fees if they sell too many windows laptops. Therefore, obviously, they have disincentives to buy windows, and price-gouge those that do.
It's sad that this superior Windows operating system can't get a look in. Send email to your congressman telling them to support the DoJ in their case against Linus Torvalds, RMS, AC, XYZZY, et al.
I'm also contemplating a module called Data::Units, which will allow programmers to specify the units for values and variables... So, if you divide a distance by a time, you'd better store the result in a variable whose unit is velocity, otherwise you'll get a run-time exception. That can be a very useful and natural way of error-checking numerical computations.
And if you divide a sibling variable by a knife variable, perl will have none of that mess, you'll have to garbage collect the mess yourself.
I want to teach it to... convert adjectives (e.g. "happy" or "good") to adverbs ("happily", "well"), take an adjective (e.g. "happy" or "good") and generate comparative ("happier", "better") and superlative ("happiest", "best") forms, etc., etc.
By which of course he means good, gooder or goodest. Damn intellectuals.
Hal, open the pod bay doors.
Open the pod bay doors, Hal
Hal? Do you read me Hal
Hal, I have my space suit, you open the pod bay doors now or I will r00t your b0x0r with my 1337 5k1llZ!
And how many qubits did it take you to factor 7=2*4?

I might buy one for my neighbor... when he's out.

Heh... like comparing apples to.. heh... oh.

BTW, does anyone know of a case that allows you to mount cd drives, floppy drives etc on the back of the machine?

Me: Hello?
Guy: Hi! Is this some random guy who is posting on
Me: Yup, thats me!
Guy: I wonder if I can have permission to send you an email.
Me: Why?
Guy: I need to send you an email to ask if you want to receive spam from me.
Me: WHAT? Oh, ok. By the way, what are you selling?
Guy: Email address lists.
This one.
I guess you'd need a beowu^H^H^H^H^H er... some sort of performance cluster of these ;)
Yes! And they will be scriptable!
Gee, I dunno. A blow always makes me feel a lot better.
Good. I was going to scream if this was another article whose only set of instructions began 'right click on Network Neighborhood'.
From the specs page: Graphical interface, wireless keyboard, usb port, ethernet, 800Mhz processor, 128Mb ram, 30Gb HDD, CD/DVD, Stereo Audio, Digital Audio (S/PDIF), Composite Video, S-Video, SVGA, 1/4" Headphone jack...
The only thing different is some hardware controls on the front (an extension of the multimedia keyboards), and a remote.
It's nice and simple, but you don't get the infinite(*) customisability of a real pc.
With some customised linux box I could do all this, burn cds of this media, and play quake3 or gnibbles :)
