Farscape has to be the most original television I ever watched. I was heartstruck by the cancellation, but am eagerly awaiting the miniseries wrapup in December!!!!
"We position Windows server as a multifunction server that does a variety of things. So in some ways, we've got a McDonald's No. 5 super-size offering that costs $2.99 and someone just wants a Diet Coke that costs 99 cents. So do we cut the entire super-size No. 5 down to 98 cents, or do we try to find a way to just give somebody the Diet Coke if that's what they want?"
Kinda funny... your sig describes LEFT wing policies, not right. Traditionally, right wing republicans are for less taxes (and generally forms of social welfare... but not ALL), LESS government, and more personal responsibility. I believe BOTH sides like infringing on State's rights however.
I was born in 77, so I got the plastic/aluminum Erector set, but I STILL loved that more than any Legos/Roboticx/Capsella set of the time. Does anyone else share this sentiment? Erector was just cool as hell, you were playing with nuts and bolts and metal. I loved it. Built many a robots (well... what I thought were robots;) )
I used this sytem for 2 years before switching to the Torque engine (simply to delve deeper into the engine). It is by far the easiest and most rewarding system available for a newcommer without prior programming knowledge.
Yeah it is NICE, but if it doesn't work and the 100x wight/cost version does, you can pretty much guess what has to be done. To be honest the Pathfinder mission was a AWESOME success for their cost and abilities, and the current ones look almost identical.
I DO wish for Beagle 2's success, but if we don't hear fomr it, I hope we can all learn from the mistakes.
In addition.. once companies realise they can hire a programmer to modify their software to fit their changing needs, everyone gains from it (assuming they abide by the GPL).
That is the point of Open Source. If you start requiring companies to give a donation, then whats the point? They will use M$, most don't care if they have the source code or not, they just ask does it work, and what is it gonna cost? I cannot believe this was even brought up.
Maybe I am mistaken in my understanding of the post, and if so, please clarify.
The same with Paul Bunyon (well the Disney version anyway)
Machines have outplaced (for good reason) man in most forms of hard labor. They are better, tireless, and CHEAPER. Machines are better at menial tasks. Man cannot comptete.
Man can now further his endeavors in Art and explorataion. But most just waste the extra time.
I think you are uninformed. Delphi 8 is NO LONGER wrapping the arcane win32 API, it will be wrapping.NET, which itself is very VCL like, so why bother?
Delphi 8 and the VCL are nothing more than wrappers around.NET. If I were to perform any NEW windows centric development I would use C#. The good news though is C# Builder is AWESOME.
To this day I still say Return of the Jedi is the best space fight I have ever seen.
DAMN STRAIGHT.

Define human ignorance, and then get back to ME.
"Web sites devoted to 'abhorrent' subjects such as cannibalism and necrophilia. What happened to freedom of expression online?"
What happened to human decency?

-- absloutly halarious.
Nice ;) I love Bill Cosby.
Was when I wrote the "Atomic Mp3 Finder" about 2 months before Napster came out.
It was a piece of shit, as I was still new to development, but was fun, and I learned a TON.

Take a look through Liviticus....

-- Simply one of the best, creative, and fun games ever made. This game was WAY ahead of its time, and was WONDERFUL.
If they had been able to expand upon the guild structure that evolved, it could have been even better.

Yeah.. my first mp3 has to be the one that came with winamp.
"It also makes for an interesting delivery mechanism for other substances"
O say like... cocaine?
AS long as you are AWARE it is the opiate, does it matter?
;)
Thanks for the noticing.
You fill their house with a giant Jiffy Pop before you ignite it with your designed (but they took control over) laser.
I hope its FP!

I wish you were right, but after seeing Bocon this year, Borland is ALL ABOUT .NET and M$ is pushing it EXTREMLY hard.

Borland is caught in the .NET.
