Apparently too impatient to implement the Broadcast Flag in digital media through legislative means
I'm glad companies no longer feel the need to respect the government, and they'd rather just pressure them into doing what they want fast. I find it amazing what people will do (government) when they don't understand things (technology), they just assume people like the FCC are right.
but instead re-created the technology based on data streams sent between the server and player software,
Dare I say it, however isn't this exactly what BnetD did with Battle.Net? Why can Real media get away with it but not BnetD? This makes no sense at all.
The regular definition being "self-awareness", I'm wondering if this is also the definition you are using to define when the machine is more than "just a program", or do you have a better one which better describes when an AI "program" becomes more than a program?
I think Yoko Kanno being there is pretty much warrent in itself to go. Her music is just incredible (you like Macross Plus right?:), and her work on bebop was also incredible. Honostly, there's very little I could say that could show the magnitude of her music talent.
Is a really good idea, especially if you could hook it up to an X10. Being able to say "lights off" is much easier than having to clap:-).
The only concern I would have in the business application is what frequencies it uses and how secure it is. Most companies I know dislike cordless phones for this exact reason, and usually stay with in building lines. But they probably have a solution for this already.
What's the point of living if you can't screw with market research? It's just fun, and my little way of getting some revenge for the countless webpages they cover with annoying advertisements, or the time they steal in between my TV programs.
He envisions a single protocol for everything from the keyboard, hard disk, peripherals, to the net connection -- just one kind of socket in the back of your box.
Didn't apple already try this with firewire, and to a less extent, USB?
Already have programs with the "free" JPEG compression included in it? They can't really stop the flow of information... i think compuserve was able to damper GIF because they caught it earlier in it's life, but it's pretty much just a futile attempt for JPEG at this point...
Furthermore, I believe this is a horrible move because now camera companies and what not might start developing propietary image formats in an attempt to save money... can you say "crap image formats everywhere"?
These sorts of games I would think provoke thought, as you have to build buildings, make cities, and all around control large amounts of men and manage resources. I think these are thought provoking, or at least more so than the "shoot 'em up" games..
No longer does anybody have to actually go into your house/company to get your data, they'll be able to just stick an antenna into the air and get it all. Seems even less secure than our already waning security due to networks becomming larger and more diverse..
A lot of people actually understand technology. They sort of see something wrong and think "hey, everyone's making money off the internet and computers, why can't I?" and they press charges, sue, or generally become another nuisance to those with enough intelligence to see what's going on. Reminds me of homer simpson, "they have the internet on computers now?"
Of Fossil fuel consumption, we certainly need an alternative. Recently Honda and GM have made the battery cars, where they are charged by gasoline instead of a power line... they work well, run silent, but people just seem to want the power/reliability of fossil fuel cars. Making something from the ground up might allow for a whole new vehicle to emerge, which would certainly have a hard time starting in the market, but if fossil fuels ran out than we'd have no choice I'm surprised people never went to natural oils, like hemp and such alternatives for combustion solutions.. they're certainly very viable and easy to replenish..
No, but you might get a link which somebody paid for instead of a better hit. Perhaps if they hadn't of "paid off" the search engine, then you would have got the other site, which was what you actually wanted.. The only thing lost I believe is time, and the fact that you have to read a few extra hits everytime..
but certain doctors seem to feel threatened by this sort of database.
If you just payed a TON of money to goto medical school, would you then want all your education flaunted all over a network of information? Probably not, it's the fact that you know something others don't is what makes you money. This applies to specific fields, and research as well.
Isn't that just trying to make the interface easier to use? I believe then you're attempting to compete (in the -COMMON- market) with OSX, and Windows. In my opinion, that's not what linux is about. It's an incredible server solution, and a desktop solution for those with enough knowledge to know how to use it. Making it install easier won't help them learn make,.confs or anything, and they'll be just as lost when trying to make and install some program that doesn't have a nice install. Linux is great, don't get me wrong, but it's not for the common user, it was never meant to be I don't think. It's much more of a "geek" OS... easier installs would be nice though, but I don't think they'll attract a huge amount of new users to it..
That Japan has the fastest train (bullet train) and now they want the fastest plane. They seem to always want the fastest thing, maybe they're compensating for.. something;)
Satellite is becomming more of an answering. Recently, for businesses, the price has been dropped to be competitive with services like cable internet and ADSL. It has a 400kbps downstream and a new upstream through ADSL (I believe). I think it's becomming a good alternative to the ever over-powering cable companies which keep charging more and are now going to begin capping internet transfer amounts.
Actually my original post was supposed to be sarcastic, but when i put in the tags "sarcasm" and "/sarcasm" it filtered them out due to my own stupidity.

I agree, however have you never seen a USB mouse and/or keyboard? I've seen quite a few..

For my fruit roll ups? It's already got red!

I want to play Dead or Alive 3 on this... nothing like seeing chicks in super high res ;-)

I just hope there was no research studies which "used" these elements... :)
and the musicians on the Washington Post site seem to like being there.
How could they not like this? It's pretty much free advertising... and being on this site means less chance of being passed around P2P..

Live and learn I suppose.
NTFS can beat both of them!
