    There is no chance of a catastrophic explosion or fire. This alone eliminates about one half of all standard problems that are encountered for any rocket flight.
    So half the "standard" problems are a catastrophic explosion and/or fire? That's kind of scary..

    A lot of people in congress don't understand the needs of today's technical inclined people. They should bring in as many tech people as they can, or simply ask slashdot when they attempt to make laws that will affect the digital world.
    Understanding the legal ramifications and understanding what's actually going on are two completely different things..

    Or do those two mirror linked images look slightly different? At the top where it says "Oslo" on the actual device, it looks like the first link (earthlink) has a small sticker or something blurred out near there, whereas the second link (davesipaq) does not have the sticker/blurred portion.
    If this is the same device, why is there this difference?

    Seems kind of like a security hazard to me if you messed it up.. I've put some in local programs, and there are quite a few other companies who have as well (MS Office for example has many). I think easter eggs are fun, and good for a laugh, but often are too hard to actually find. I don't know too many people who have actually "stumbled" upon too many...

    40 years ago today, the first trans-Atlantic TV transmission made it out of the Maine woods and into history, via the original Telstar.
    If they're celebrating this, shouldn't they broadcast it the same way as it was back then? I'm sure a good .. 5 people could watch it ;)

    I know it costs a lot per letter of text... so why not just print maybe one or two nines instead? Or maybe a one with two zeros... I tend to just round off after a certain point

    And I guess this is true. I'd say a good amount of people play/played video games throughout their life, and I'm pretty sure they're not any dumber.

    It was only a matter of time before this happened. PayPal was being used in a lot of places, but most people I know started off using it for Ebay. So why not take it..
    Wouldn't surprise me if we see "EBay Passport" not too far in the future, or some service along those lines...

    I saw this the day it came out. The plot was very thin, the whole movie felt like it was just made because they NEW they'd make money, since the first one did so well. It was very bad... the special effects weren't even up to par, and that's all the movie had going for it..
    Anyways, that's my opinion of it, I definatly don't recommend this movie to anybody..

    Doesn't this seem like a bad idea? I don't even want to touch my computer when it's doing heavy hard drive access, and now they want to put it into a mobile machine? It better have good shock absorbtion, otherwise going over any sort of bumps at fast speeds would certainly cause havoc.
    If anyone remebers, this used to be an issue with the first in-car CD-players -- they'd skip...

    I believe the general conception that SCSI is too expensive for the home user is going to make it hard for SCSI to pick up now. Although SCSI is much faster (and better for business in my opinion), I think IDE will continue to rule with it's slower perfomance and cheaper prices the home market. Quite a shame though, IDE seems to always be so slow when compared to the incredibly fast SCSI drives out... but then again, the size of IDE w/ current prices means you can get a huge hard drive for relatively cheap, which is almost impossible with SCSI.

    A shorter program that did the same thing as a longer program, but was more efficient than a longer program might have taken much more time/effort to code.. I don't think it could possibly take this into consideration.
    Personally, I'd feel bad if I wrote a program which was just a bunch of spaghetti.

    I've heard of CPU and/or motherboard temperature checking in the bios, but I've yet to hear of power supply temperature checking.. What motherboard do you have?
