I don't think it's up to us to determine if he's innocent. I say let this go to court. There were plenty of eyewitnesses that can testify as to how the incident escalated. Personally I think that whether he was being uncooperative or not, unless he was trying to break out of a hold or threatening violence there was no reason to taze him. But yeah, let's see this one go to a proper investigation.

So if he was just laying there being a passive resistor, why then did the cops not just carry him out? How many cops were there? Certainly enough to carry out one scrawny college student. He didn't deserve to get tased once, let alone multiple times even if he was being an asshole.

eh, I don't think the terminology implies intelligence behind the hiding at all. The sun becomes "hidden" behind the moon during a solar eclipse, but that doesn't mean someone put the moon there. I think the only intelligence implied is that of the observer so.. oh wait, you have a point. Yes, no intelligent life here.

That reminds me of something... I think it was George Carlin, though I hesitate to say that since so much stuff gets attributed to him.. anyway his idea was that all cars should come equipped with a suction dart shooter, and all the darts would have a little "Asshole" flag. So if someone cuts you off in traffic, or otherwise drives like an asshole, you shoot them with your dart, so everyone knows about it. Then if anyone accumulates 3 or more darts, it's open season on them: you're free to run them off the road, ram them, shoot at them, whatever. Anyway, I was amused.

Ain't that the truth? I used to work at a smallish used CD chain, and the manager at the store I was at was a huge scammer. He would regularly take stacks of CD's out of inventory, take them home, presumably rip them, and then bring them back in and sell them back to the store as if they were his. Sometimes he would sell them to other places. The best part is that he was also a complete dick to his employees: the final straw was after he claimed I was "stealing store resources" by reading Slashdot before opening one morning. No joke. So I quit.
