Yes it is! And Windows 3.11 is faster than Windows 95... IMHO the added functionality in KDE2/3 vs KDE1 is worth it the extra RAM-requirement! KDE 2.2.1 is not much slower than KDE 1.1.2 if you have enough RAM, but it has lots and lots and lots of new functionality (especially for developers)!! RAM is dirt cheap these days!
with QT, your apps are stuck being GPL'd, or you have to pay trolltech for QT
No, you can develop KDE/Qt programs using any Open Source licence there is without paying TrollTech! The QPL-part of the dual QPL/GPL licensing allows this.
KDE is getting faster with every release!

To all of you that always say "they only care about bloat and not about speed" and "They should stop implementing features and focus on speed":
They ARE focusing on speed! 2.1 is MUCH faster than 2.0. 2.2 is MUCH faster than 2.1 and 2.2.1 is quite a bit faster than 2.2!
There are lot of speed-enhancing features in KDE3, for example an iconserver that serves icons to the apps. Right now all apps have to scan a lot of very big directories every time they start and load all the icons from the filesystem. With the iconserver that only has to be done once, when starting up the desktop.
More features doesn't necessarily mean less speed!
Sorry for not RTFM but I don't think I'll find an answer there that I can trust there anyway..
If I develop an application in Kylix, will it require proprietary libs? Can it be included in Debian without broken dependancies (or stupid "installer-packages" that say "go to http://www.göte.cx, download x and put it in/tmp")?

Yes, age HAS something to do with gaming (even if you're under a certain age, LOL). Ever played Frogger, Djungle Hunt or Scramble?
I'm serious! There have been posts to the X-MAME mailinglist recently from users who think that X-MAME means MAME for Windows XP...
No wonder they can't get it to run! LOL
When I submitted the story I actually wrote that "I think it looks more like a LightWave rendering or something". But somehow, CmdrTaco didn't include that part...

Studio 3 (former System 3) is working on Last Ninja 4 since 1999! It will be released for XBox and probably also PS2 and Windoze. They have been working VERY hard on research and they have been active in Last Ninja-fan-mailinglists. The Last Ninja-series is IMHO the best games ever released on any platform, together with Monkey Island 1+2 (Disclaimer: You may think otherwise) Check this page for more info (and screenshots):

It's a preview of Apple's upcoming PDA, the iWalk, featuring "a scaled down version of Mac OS X". The picture is supposed to be real, but personally I think it looks more like a LightWave rendering or something... Judge for yourself!
It's originally an arabic song that somebody has "translated" to Swedish. Not translated, but put swedish words that sound almost the same as the arabic. I don't know any arabic, but the result is really crazy!! "Glue on the piece of ham, funny", when the original meaning is probably something like "I love you my dear":-)
Yeah, I saw them live on Holidays In The Sun, Morecambe, UK this summer... Great concert! ;)
:-P
Kinda offtopic though..
Anyone saying Alan and sexual in the same sentence must be REALLY perverted.. :-P
Oh wait, I just did! Damn! Well, nevermind...

Why don't you just phone some AV stores and ask them instead?
Just be glad that he didn't say Ricky Lake, Jenny Jones and Jerry Springer...
Todays huge harddisks don't make me store more pr0n on them. They let me store the same amount of pr0n but in much better quality! :)

BeOS "only" supports 18-petabyte files. With this patch, Linux can have 144-petabyte files!
Does anyone know how big files Irix supports?

Well I think it's better than buying it to play it in Windows anyway...
Please tell me! It's a perfectly valid question! I want to know too! I'm not going to install windows just to play this game.. ;-p

Go straight to the original article instead! Mozillazine seems to be down...
You just HAD to give an example with a buffer overrun vulnerability in it, did you? :)
