Never let the facts get in the way of a good story.
Star Office was closed before Sun bought it and free'd it.
Its done good for Sun, and good for everyone else. Think
I would go back to MS Office?... On FreeBSD on Sparc?
No. It IS the law. We have to wait until we can vote our Bair and his "Two legs baaad - four legs good" cronies, and re-elect the totally corrupt and morally bankrupt tories instead. I doubt the gay vote is enough to get the LibDems in, but I could be wrong. (The Scots voted Gay a few days ago, and they are not noted for doing so.)
This is England you are talking about. Real illegal imigrants and criminals will buy fake ID cards on e-bay. Organised crime will mass produce them, and the related database will be hacked by almost everyone before EDS can get it working properly.
Only honest citizens will be jailed.
But dont worry. If they complain they can be charged with the new offence of "Glorifying someone other than Tony Bliar" and jailed for 90 days without trial - More if Muslim or Christian or not actually unemployed, slightly less for farm animals and lawyers (if there is a difference).
Can I get an 8-core Niagra processor as an upgrade option for my Ultra 20?
We are Unix users - we run the windowing system on a separate machine anyway,
so we dont care if the T1000 has no graphics or HD. A HD is only for boot and swap
space - real storage is elsewhere. (Doesn't every home have a bank of Raid servers these days? You will need them if you are going to have a network based media centre - especially one using MS software.) Since a T1000 will boot over the network, just stuff it full of RAM and forget about swapping!
Thats like saying life insurance is worthless until your dead
No, its like offering to insure you, a Ford driver, against being sued because your Ford contains patent infringing technology. You don't need any indemnity- you are not liable anyway.
The situation with Linux is different - since all Linux users could, in principle, pass Linux to someone else, they might distribute patent infringing code even though they did not put it in Linux trhemselves. However, such a case being successfull relies on the Jury being criminally insane, or perhaps heavily bribed. In any case, you are unlikely to be sued unless its Microsoft that sues. So MS offers to indemnify you against MS suing you for something for which you would not be liable. WHile this might have some PR merit, its hardly a big deal.
it's the legal issues around removing it and labeling it spyware
DONT GIVE ME THIS BOLLOCKS. Ask the csutomer if he wants the stuff or not. You know he doesnt want stuff from 180 solutions, even if he doesnt. However, if the user makes the determination that he doesnt want something, you cannot be held to blame. And if you think cant defend yourself in court against these scumbags, then maybe you should consider suicide.
- This IS flambait. Mod it whhere you want it!
If Sun's true motivation is to slaughter MS, then this is definitely a winning strategy. Let everyone who hates MS join together and produce an app that will p*ss on MS-Office from a great height.
If Suns motivation is to make it easier for those of us that actually use Hyper-Mega-Super Sparc architecture, so we don't move to Apple kit ~(:-}, then this is a winner too.
If Sun's intention is to make money from OOO, by holding it close to their chests, then they should apply now for a brain transplant. Even an Intel 8080 could figure out that one won't fly.
However, only Sun know if the Sun branded Star Office really does penetrate the kind of damn fool organisation that refuses free stuff. (People actually BUY shares in companies that refuse to use free stuff, even when its better than what you pay for?)
The answer is simple: you will need 2 * (1 + j) hands on your watch. Unless its digital, in which case you will need a display showing 3.1415926 digits.
Her4e in the UK, anyyone of importance in the media has managed to get an education which did not even mention the wod science. They know nothing of what science is, and are scared sh*tless by the sound of the word alone, having no concept of the meaning.
You will never find another group of people so motivated to slag of science on the planet.
Of course you can get it past them by pretending it is something else - CSI, etc. Only because they are ignorant of the concept, and dont even know science when it hits them between the eyes.
the UK cellphone market has been picking up recently is longer contracts (now up to 18 months) and higher and higher fees to unlock your device
I don't know how well the 18 month contracts are selling. No one I knows has signed any of these deals. They all think - hang on, my phone will be obsolete in 12 months, even if it still works. As for unlocking, that nice man in the market does it for £ 6 anyway. And if he tries to charge more, there's another in the next street. Round here, even the meat stall in the market offers phone unlocking. I did my own with a file downloaded from the internet.
Personally, I would like to see the whole business of locking challenged in the European court as an illegal restraint of trade.
When it does not work - you should come back with a different browser.
Yeah right. these pigshit morons not only can't write proper browser independent HTML, they can't support my browser either - why should I think they can support their product? I will go somewhere else. (They are probably a bunch of criminals anyway.)

In America, Afganistan, Africa, Iran, Iraq, etc, to name but a few, in law, victory follows the money.
If he could manage that, I'd even vote for him, and I'm not even American (but fortunately Diebold don't care).
I thought you Americans were familiar with the story in the Bible.
Any game will do!
In return, I will give you a number crunching program in Visule Basic. Unfortunately, the only number it crunches is '4' :-)
Nope: what we have at this point in time is an ongoing bullshit senario, with maximal management synergetic proximity plethora begorrah!

First reading: Commons propose the bill.
Second reading: Lords point out that the bill is generally undesirable, and much of the wording is either ambiguous or meaningless.
Third reading:Bill returns to the commons, where the Lords are overruled on the grounds that they are old codgers.
"if" it passes the third reading, it becomes law. (There is no "else").
I think you will find their policies involve taking liberties.

Have no fear, under the present convernment, fresh air will be taxed just as soon as they have a half-workable technology to do it.

This WAS written on Sun kit running FreeBSD).
Its fairly obvious you dont read "fat freddies's cat and the furry freak brothers" comics
Dope gets you through times of no money better than money gets you through times of no dope. All good hippies know what.

You might want to download a copy of NetBSD then.
Just cos you cant buy bread, doesnt mean you won't get bird flu!

In the UK? None AFAIK
But then, some of them value an MSCE

I am a customer, and I do think this way.
