Actually there is... or was... I don't know. It's called Alphaworld. It's a huge multiuser VRML based world where anyone could claim some space and build something. Don't know if it exists anymore, used it years ago on my 486 with a 14.4k modem:) Google for it if you are intrested...
I have a Logitec cordless optical, same design as the dual optical, batteries instead of a second sensor. But I find it a bit bulky, so I bought a Logitec MX300 mouse. Same precision, but a lot smaller and lighter. Well... it's a matter of preference...

G4s are faster on RC5, I tried it on a 667 Mhz G4 and a 1.4Ghz thunderbird, the G4 was about 25% faster... But then again on the distributed.nets OGR challenge the thunderbird was a lot faster...
I tried running the RC5 on both my about 10 years old 486-66 and on my current thunderbird 1.4. The newer computer was about 55 times faster.
If computer continue to get faster at the same rate, this challence would in 10 years take thousands of computers 1700/55 ~= 30 days to complete... In 20 years only half a day...
And I have a older 2 megapixel camera (Canon ephoto something). When downloading images through a serial cable the files appear on the disk at about 300k / picture, then imageready does some "magic" on the photo and suddenly every image takes 1000-1200k... 1600x1200 pixels in photoshop... called interpolation... go figure...
Now you are confusing IQ with intelligence, we all know that IQ is a vague measure of intelligence. And the IQ scale is not absolute. When new tests are designed, they are tested on a large quantity of people, and they distort the scale so that the average will be exactly 100.
Simplified example: Test with 10 questions, 3 persons. They get 1,9 and 100 right. Scale is adjusted so that they get 50, 100 and 150 IQ points.
When people did a IQ test in the 1930ies they averaged to 100 points. When people today take the same test they average almost 130. But still we say that the average people has a IQ of 100 points. The tests and scales have changed.
BTW. I have done different IQ-tests. In american tests I average 130, in european tests 110:)

I don't know if this is the same bug, but this exists in Borland Pascal. If you are using the crt unit on a machine faster than about 200 MHz it would crash the program at startup. The reason is that it inizialises the delay function and on a fast enough computer it takes 0 time units (milliseconds, whatever), and BANG, runtime error 200, division by zero.
I don't know how fast Deep Blue is, but i'm sure it's not the fastest computer in the world. My 1.4GHz athlon calculates with a speed of about a half gigaflop. And Deep Blue is slower than 12000 gigaflops, so the answer is less than about 25000 slower athlons (maybe 15000 of the fastest model).
I don't really know how it is now there, but about 5 years ago when we drove through Germany at 80 km/h (~50 mph) in our crappy 1974 Peugeot nobody shook any fist at us. Maybe they behaved better back then or they simply felt sorry for us:)
And BTW, anyone can lecture Americans about energy conservation. Here in Finland 95 % of the cars have a engine smaller than 2 litres, and those rare cars with 4 litres or over are imported from America. And wasn't there an article earlier on slashdot of the next generation of cars that had to be registered as trucks because of their fuel consumption?
The network I am in blocks port 21, 23 and on most computers port 80. So a filesharing program would work nicely... It's easier to install filesharing proggie than change you ftp-servers port.
Why are everybody worried about these asteroids? The last asteroid big enough to kill people so it counts hit earth something like 65 million years ago... Those smaller asteroids keep dropping down a bit more often, but who cares? If it don't hit a major city (very unlikely, compared to the unihabited part of earth) it won't do anything... Oh yeah.. a few thounsand people might get killed, but doesn't people die in larger quantities in wars and stuff like that?
What? Didn't they "test" their system?-)

That is easily reproduced... On my win2k machine starting to copy over 4 GB is enough to mess up the time estimate...
Don't know if this is true, but read here
Um... it's also possible to dip your hand into liquid nitrogen, and to put some in your mouth and blow smoke :)
Can't remeber the source, but google for it...
That's 10000x times faster. Try using a calculator next time :)
Yea, I could sure use a source distro, my current is waaay to slow...

Try F12, pops up the same menu in the center of your screen.

Nono.. those people only want to listen to pong on the radio...
Put up a empty www-server on your computer, change the 404 not found page to a empty page and put ad.doubleclick.net to 127.0.0.1 in your host-file.
