Freedom of Speech, and threats against Olympics

Has anyone read through the article? The FBI's confiscated the computers, and they contain letters plotting to take on the Olympics, maybe in a form of domestic terrorism. They also confiscated some items they say were bomb-making materials. Free Speech doesn't cover making your point with explosives!
URL! URL! I'd like to see the code on it. If you wish, contact me through my comic strip -- I'm willing to port it to Linux and maybe imitate X Windows in text mode.:)
Damn... but not TextMode

Geesh... VGA mode -- which means you need some sort of support with your card (some old laptops don't).
But how about doing it in TextMode, animating each group of characters? I think PC Tools did it with their on-screen Text-mode mouse pointer which actually looked like a mouse pointer.
Of course, having a Penguin on the first three or so lines of my screen in text mode all the time would help too.:)
The Parachute for Palm III/Handeras, a PCMCIA controller over serial port. Hey, if they can port it to serial port (shouldn't be too hard), you'll have generic access to compact flash/IDE.
I think if it continued to use the animated format instead of the live-action format, it would of gained more viewers. Some things aren't cut out for live-action. Tick was one of them -- it was good, very good, as an animated show.
Other shows that should of been better off animated:
Power Rangers (all series)
Most(if not all) live-action shows comming from Saban Enterntainment (usually on Fox).
He's been discussed to death for his escapades -- and all of 'em have "Coffee & Cat" warnings. It's laughable at best -- and lawsuits aren't valid until you get that supena in the snail mail.
128 Kilobits / 8 bits per byte = 16 KiloBytes. Hmm, 1K must be used for sub-TCP/IP overhead...
I doubt anyone would hit it constantly. In my case, I probably would hit it uploading to VCL or Kinkos. Streaming to the world? I don't do that -- I have an account at Live365, so I'm only have one outbound stream -- and that doesn't hit 20Kbps.
Besides, I can't run a server (TOS prohibits it), but I wouldn't be surprized if they're loose about it: ICQ opens up a server on your computer, as well as all other IM's.
Why replace a whole computer (with a $999+ component from ThinkGeek, perhapse)? Keep the laptop, but use a different method of getting the tunes *OUT*.
You know that PCMCIA cards suck. Have you tried USB or maybe Paraell port? I know of one product, lp3, hooks into the paraell port and you basically print the MP3 to it. Unfortunately the lp3 is not shipping (they're having problems handling shipping).
I've also heard of the LPBlaster, and of course numerous supported USB audio devices...
I've kinda sidestepped this issue with my own dealings with Paypal. What I did is:
1. Signed up for a Yahoo! Mail account, and told Paypal to send policy updates and transaction details there. I think alot of these companies want to keep in contact with you so you don't get trapped when they have to change policy.
2. Signed up, and received, the Paypal debit Mastercard. You get this by being a Premier or Business member. This debits straight from the Paypal account. I pay for art prints, supplies, and shipping through Kinkos, Mail Boxes Etc, and even the US Postal Service (yep, they take credit cards now).
Their main aim is to keep cash in the account, so that they can make money off of it. They make no jokes about it either -- clues are there if you go to their money market fund and read through the prospectus.
Also, Paypal *does* insure the accounts though The Traveler's Group (a well known, respected insurance company). They sidestep that issue.
Of course you could use Spamazon (more trouble than it's worth) or Yahoo! PayDirect (less features, more secure, more time consuming). But Paypal's the best bet here.
PalmOS is embedded, but not realtime. Most folks don't need it.
Me, I'll take a cheap 386-class processor in a handheld, 32 megs ram, some flash, and I'll slap Linux on it. I'd love to compile gcc on battery power and have it not be on a laptop.
Installed 2.4.15 the day this post came out. GAH! Now trying to deinstall the bird and go back to 2.4.14, and no matter what I do it says it's the greased turkey.
What's even funnier is that I could upgrade it a bit to 20mb ram and a half-gig HD, but still can't get XFree 4 to run on it (damn Compaq AVGA, someone port the driver yet from 3.3.6?).
Now dare me to play MP3's on it, and I'll play Internet Radio (but not full quality, unfortunately).
I questioned them on this topic and they maintain that they do not resell our information.
Did you ask them about the spams *they* sent? I mean, you can trace it all the way back to Dotster or Verisign or Joker.com. That's what I'm meaning. Reselling's been a tired issue that makes money walk instantly.
These ones spam:
NSI/Verisign/Register.com
Joker.com
Dotster
You can find out more by asking on news.admin.net-abuse.email. However, here's some that don't spam, haven't given any problems, and are groovy all around.

Then they have the code, and it'll be an eazy port job. :)
It was bought by CMP, the same folks behind Sysadmin, so things are very much stable. http://www.tpj.com
Very true. If it goes out on coax/S-Video/etc, it's already ready to be copied -- even by a computer.
That goes for DVD players hooked up to a computer via a capture card. Don't need a DVD drive!

Yahoo's been carrying Pepsi's prehype ads for their Superbowl commercials for some time... and I don't know if it's just GIF/JPG problems or...
But ever time I see Britney now, it just looks like she's become a Barbie doll.
Can someone *confirm* this? Damn thing looks disgusting on the web. If it's true, I think I *won't* be watching TV for the next six months...
If it goes out through standard Cable/Antenna coax, split video/audio, S-Video, you can copy or digitize it.
Do folks need super audio/video? Or just a different format which doesn't wear out just as fast.
Bottom of the page:
The Public 8 Ball was conceived and assembled by Jim Studt, he can be reached at [you know where to find it].
A search of their site says negative.
Wait... that's...

Someone pass the Basic Stamp II's...

Lets see now, while LoFat's nice... how about this:
:) Infact, I should document this triumph...
20 megs RAM on a Linux 2.4.17 running 486/33 laptop.
640x480 8-bit LCD (Compaq AVGA)
XFree 3.x server
I'm half tempted to recomile Xfree.
Can't they fix the 2.4.x bug which loves to chew up a ton of pagecache?!? Just cut that thing down...

not a knock against PalmOS, just RT OS's on consumer level devices. :)

'Nuff said.

Back to 2.2.19 now to recompile 2.4.14...
