Jame "Buffalo Bill" Gumb: Yes, it will, Precious, won't it? It will get the hose!
Windows alone, even in the realm of computer is in NO WAY specific to Microsoft. Every system with a GUI has Windows, and there were many such systems long before Microsoft even had a GUI themselves. There's a reason they wound up paying Lindows to rename...
Does this mean they'll have to forfeit their Ig Nobel?
My goodness, the two aren't even remotely related. The poor country finally has some good press and you come and associate it with the scammers. Tsk, tsk!
I'll do you one better. I set it to download before I left home from work, about 8 hours ago. One can only imagine what the share ratio will be whe I get back home.
Now I am begining to wonder if I should have done that with a torrent that I knew would be hammered.
RSS saves me time. I absorb less garbage stimuli (ads, images, meandering sites) and I can put my limitied time and energy into the things that truly interest me.
You are aware that more and more sites and now putting ads as part of their feeds.
Perhaps we'll soon see an adblocker for newsreaders.
I have never used AOL but don't ISPs let you register an email address with them regardless of who the email provider is. They just want a way to reach you. Maybe that's what this guy sold, the email addresses they had on file.
My exact first thought when I read that: "This dumbass just confessed to multiple counts of assault and battery on CNN!"
I thought the same thing too. I bet he was so excited and in the moment he told how he heroically fought his way to accquiring a laptop. He'll sit back in a few hours and realize how dumb that was and start hoping no one presses charges.
I mean if he really did hurt someone out there, he might have gotten away scot free.
The point is, when you have consumerism, when you have means to consume like there is now tomorrow, you can allways choose not to consume. The sad thing is that the same kind of "buy! buy! it's only 9.99e!" hasn't really kicked of here in Europe. Atleast not in the same volume as it works in America.
And it is very hard for those born and raised in the US to see this. I was raised in a very poor country and when I came over to the US, I noticed it immediately. My (American) cousins and I would get our paychecks from work and they would immediately want to go to the mall. Granted we were only 18 then, but this was still quite disturbing.

If advertising revenue at ATMs prevents new fees from occuring, I say more power to them. As it is, I find it absolutely irritating that if I withdraw from an ATM my bank doesn't own, I have to pay the owner of the ATM *and* the bank a fee.
Yeah but I doubt that will happen. You'll still get charged and have to watch the ads.
All these comments on getting treated free by having sex infected with the new strain assume that the person has no other STDs. I mean it would suck if you got HIV to cure cancer and then got Herpes too!
it's time for microsoft to step up and get out of denial, firefox is a viable alternative now.

No one is locking you into goolge's services. There were plenty others before they came along and there are still many alternatives available.

when you look out the gate and see 5000+ people, maybe the thing has gotten out of hand and it's time to cancel the sale.
Or up the price. This way the crowd thins out a little bit, sending the cheapskates home. And the city gets more money back.
It's like that MasterCard ad. But backwards.
