    Sorry, but I call bullshit on this one.

    EDGE is an upgrade to GPRS providing better data rates, and is not mandated by any of the specs. It's entirely an operator decision to request this from its network vendors, and hence if no operators demand it, no phone providers will build it into the phone.

    It is being deployed in some european countries, and I think the AT&T network in the US has it already, so phones will arrive, but slowly

    OK, so the OLED part is organic, but the casing will most probably be made of non-recyclable plastic, the board on which the OLED is mounted probably wont decompose and so on.

    It's not just about the OLED.

    Although to be fair if they're as efficient as the marketing bullshit claims then the energy savings may compensate for the landfills

    imagine that eventually the price point would be so that when the colors faded you pitched the old set, bought a new one and thought nothing more of it then if you were upgrading a video game console.

    Great, now we're churning out even more consumer waste to put in landfills.

    The main justification being that:

    Outlook 2002 is fully featured enough to compete, and
    Most users with windows will be using outlook 2002 so it is a useful reference.

    Mostly it was a reference to the crusades, which was started by christians. Other religions are, as you suggest, quite capable of staggering intolerance and I didn't mention them because the parent explicitly stated his faith.

    And I have the right to bash anyone I like thank you very much. It's freedom of speech. It may be misguided or wrong, but it is my right.

    Anyone who is a Christian will quickly realize that our beliefs tell us only about goings-on in Heaven and Earth, and contains no references to other planets or other extra-terrestrial life forms

    Soooo. If those other planets do have life, and that life has a religion with a god, is that the same god or a different one?

    And more to the point, whose God is better? Yours or theirs These are the questions that need answering by Christians

    Land line is also good for your home's alarm and tracking where a 911 call is made from

    IIRC the FCC have requirements in place for the wireless operators to provide the location of a 911 call being made from a cellular phone to within about 20m.

    Should be coming into force fairly quickly, although I'm not sure about the exact timescales.

    The argument about profit is good, but the problem is that in the energy supply industry the business has no ability to stop providing energy to unprofitable areas (which in this case may be the areas which need it most).

    I assume that there is a requirement on the energy industry to provide service to close to (if not precisely) 100% of the people in a geographical area

    And then they say

    The keys, which use quantum cryptography, were transmitted as photons of light along optical fibres.

    So which is it?
