I really hate this. I bought a "Low end" ($100)DVD player 3 months ago to replace the nice DVD player that got nailed by lightning. The DVD player is only 3 months old and I've had quite a few DVD's that just plain out don't work on it.:-/ And once you tear off the plastic, the stores won't take them back anymore. This also goes for almost any DVD I rent. I think like 2 of the last 20 DVD's I've rented have actually played all the way through the movie without totally fscking up like 1/2 way through and ruining the movie experience. I've been renting VHS lately... I'm quite happy using our "I got this on clearance for $10" VCR.:-/ I really can't offord to buy a new $150+ DVD player every 3 months when these retards change their copy protection. Hey MPAA.... BITE ME!:-/
We had to use pascal in high school. But atleast by that time I had already programmed in Qbasic. But it was still ugly going into pascal.:-/ My best friend had a hard time getting started in pascal and eventually dropped out of programming 1. TSK TSK. Now the school teaches VB on 2k. I'd say they are going downhill.:-D

C&W Bails Out
·
· Score: 3, Interesting
Yes, it "COULD" be... but I don't think it will. C&W isn't just hitting the power switch. They'll migrate stuff. We were on C&W last year (ISP T1) and last year they sold ALL of their ISP accounts to New Edge Networks, (Which I must say is over priced, and the quality of service sucks bad!). Anyways, they are good about switching things over seamlessly, they just pick back places to sell your account to;-(.
I considered this too. Law is where the money is. They charge a buttload and everyone is constantly throwing lawsuites around.. Don't matter which side of the fense you are on, your gonna make money.:-)
As per your second point, I agree with that, didn't think of that.
Getting back to #1 though, my point was, if its a small town (Like 1 mile radius) is the system (the GPS one) even going to pick up millage driven. For instance, my wife drives from our driveway to work, and its a mile at most. Will this GPS system be sensitive enough to pick that up? Because if its not, then she could drive around the block day and night, put on 200 miles, and not have ANY tax. That was my point. Or is this new system meant to be hiway only?
I agree with that. I'd rather pay the tax on the gas. Plus, someone that drives around a small town for 4 hours isn't going to get taxed very much (if at all? How delicate is this system), whereas someone driving on the highway for 4 hours will get raped (compared to the person in town). Plus their will be no reason to buy a car that gets great gas millage over one that gets very poor millage. Great.. more reason for soccer moms to buy SUV's.:-(
Wow, your pretty full of yourself. "It sucked, therefor I should get it for free." Uhm.. Ok.. if you say so. So just by me saying that all the music made on this planet sucks, does that justify me downloading all of it for free? And they should let me download it for free in hopes that I'll listen to future *suck* music because of it? Pfft.. wake up ichimunki, the drugs have you.
Useless?? Yeah right.. then again, not all of us are smart enough to "Export" this kinda stuff.:-) I'm sure theirs pleanty of other countries where the said serial numbers are useless.:-)
This is just as much of a bummer as waking up from the Matrix.:-( Of course, I don't know whats worse, waking up from the matrix, or waking up from being obsessive about a stupid sci-fi movie and realizing that it was just a movie and reality isn't that sick and twisted..... or is it?:-) BTW, Thanks Wichowski bros for getting my blog back on!:-)
Yeah.. great.. Its hard diverting their attention from picking their nose while at Burger King, you think they are going to have the attention span to actually sit and watch something like this, and if they do, will they actually be able to spot anything? Arg.. I can see it already.. I'll be itching my ass in public and some Burger King flunky will report me as having an Anthrax spreading device up my arse.:-9
Yes, they do. What I'm pondering on though, is how they are going to prove the code's time. I mean.. seriously... how hard would it be for them to be like.. "Oh.. we'll just cut some GPL code, and paste it into SCO code......super.. there we go... ":-/ Like... closed source programs have a serious advantage there unless there is some way of proving that the source was actually there x years ago.:-/ Can someone spread some light on how they'd prove how old their code is?
Yes, but have you tried to put a PCI sound card in a solaris box lately?:-) Mine didn't come with onboard sun sound, and I wanted to use it as a half ass workstation. Won't be no tunes comin outta that box! On the other hand, Linux does support PCI cards a bit better. That is quite a small detail to worry about though. Just thought I'd mention it:-) Then again, a sparc classic running splack and mpg321 will work nicely.:-)
I had debian installed on my UltraAXI and it ran pretty good. NetBSD ran pretty good on it too. Not to get off topic, but UltraSparcs lack variety. Not many linux distros still support Ultra ports well (Redhat stopped at 6.2, MDK stopped at 7.1?, Debian is current!, Gentoo doesn't support X on Ultra (WTF, Idiots) Slack stopped at 6.x? and Splack just isn't bleeding edge). Back on topic, I'm glad to see progress. I'm not into OS flame wars, but I do like things about Debian (apt, dur), and NetBSD (mad portability), so I'm definately going to have to play with this.:-)
Na, thats unrealalistic. What IS more possible, is IBM buying SCO, thus owning ALL of SCO's code. Now, this means if IBM choses, they may open the source on ALL of SCO's products. That would just be a beautifull thing.:-)
Michigan residents are no longer allowed to pick their nose. Offenders will be not get a chance to defend themselves, they will not pass go, they will immediately be punished by death.

/me puts on a anti-DMCA shirt saying: "Your grandma pays for paterns? Mine doesn't! Download Kazaa today!"
:-D Yes, this is a joke!

What are you talking about? Corperate America has more damn money than you'll ever imagine... and your worried about them paying $1.. pfft!
All alone when you have something like 6 billion "humans" around you?
:-)
But from a bigger view, I see your point
Wow, your pretty full of yourself. "It sucked, therefor I should get it for free." Uhm.. Ok.. if you say so. hrm.. I've got every patch installed on this XP box. Haven't had one that broke anything yet...
Well if it wasn't for prior art, they'd probably have "Fucking people up the ass" patented.
Like a rubber chicken? :-d

Point very well taken. Sparc definately isn't targeted at the home user. But I just got one for the geek factor. :-)
YAY! :-)
I'm surprised I didn't see more "All your sand dunes are belong to us" posts.

Its even better to see when its something hillarious like this. :-)
Wake up Neo. The Matrix has you.
And remember, there is no Linu^H^H^H^Hspoon.

Welcome to the real world Neo.
