This is exactly correct. They get away with it because people were already used to paying for "data" with their cell phones, as if 1's and 0's were some finite resource we're going to run out of.
...but I really liked Solo. I finally caught it on VOD and I didn't get all the hate at all. I found it to be mostly entertaining and decently written/directed/acted. I say this as a man who's seen every SW movie on opening day (except ANH, which I saw opening week as a 7 year old). I just didn't get why people hated it so much.

Putting KBM on a console will effectively kill the controller market when it comes to competitive play, because there's no comparison as to which is faster/more accurate.
