What's important is that Google will not even flinch if M$ pulled the plug on them. Worst case scenario where Google lose all 3 Earth, Talk, Desktop Search, it still doesn't matter that much.
If they are serious about a filesystem, it has to be bundled with the linux distros every release. Take Reiser and JFS for example, some distros have it, some don't. Not every release of the same distro has it, what a mess. Only two have stayed permanently EXT2, EXT3. Everything else is trendy.
The case result made it ok to sell you something defective and charge you later for a repair. By definition they should reinstate the case, and make M$ charge everytime for their hotfix. They'll go out of business trying to sell you defects.
Does anyone else believe there are only so many "real" viruses out there? The rest are engineered by the virus scan companies?
For example you install Symantec norton antivirus. It detects something as a virus. Let's say you DON'T clean or quarantine it, and just install norton.
Now install McAfee antivirus. It may not even detect that same virus at all. Assuming both scanners are all updated, how can a virus count in one software and not the other.
LPAR on AIX and Linux is real virtualization. Similar to Solaris 10's container or the old Sunfire hardware Dynamic Domain Reconfiguration. Split at the hardware level.
You are so right on this. The US online console markets are downright offensive. Unlike PC gaming where there "might" be an administrator, console games are mostly peer to peer.
Screamers have rendered my headphones obsolete. The languages and racists comments are beyond acceptable. I ALWAYS thought I have seen it all. But I am proven wrong everytime.
PS1 was the first system with a combination of software and hardware that rivals the arcades. Every other console before it tried to make arcade games or had arcade-like chipsets and didn't know what to do with it. CDrom had little to do it.
M$ is powerful today because people want to write apps for them.
Linux is powerful today because people want to write apps for them.
Google is powerful already when there is hardly any apps being written for them. You got a search engine, googletalk and maps. You can count it all handful like M$ in the 80s writing alot of their own apps. Imagine a future google API that can do games, any apps and more.
The only software I give M$ full credit for doing a good job is MS streets and trips. Bug free, works fast and cheap! If all M$ software was this good, I would keep my mouth shut.
In other news, scientists spent millions on research studies to discover that a 19 year-old boy runs faster than a 80 year-old man while holding a CD case.
Actually this is not a calculating issue as the taxes would probably only be off by a small percentage. It's more of a political issue. No president wants the interest rates to fly upwards on their watch. No president wants to add internet tax on their watch either.
If they matched internet tax with sales tax, then I can see a mega boom for online stores in Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon.
30 million out of 1.3 billion people in China owns a car. The rest simply can't afford it. This group makes anywhere from $20,000 to $200,000 a year. This is still a significant market to sell to.
Dude I said the same thing when I first saw the original Katamari Damacy at a buddies house. Now I own the sequel, we love Katamari. It seemed like a boring timed puzzle version of marble madness at first. But when they started rolling sumo wrestlers and expanded the over the top plots, it became a great and addictive game.
The merger is pointless. How many management folks will cash out of this one. They mind as well do something to the store name, how about "Stop Boutique".
Meanwhile I'll continue buying any new games at Bestbuy when the weekly flyers price new releases as $39.99. And if there is anything I can afford to wait, I'll settle for $19.99 anywhere.
I had to quit cause I got so annoyed by the people who clearing are acting the experience instead of enjoying it. That's even more annoying than knowing people are mixing the ounce with lawn grass.
When a company's top management gets rewarded a 10 million dollar severance package for doing a bad job. And then some massive layoffs comes around the corner to punish you, it's not a pleasant thought.
There is nothing flamebait about the parent. This is the type of counseling highschools need to stick to kids. If people made better decisions about having children early on, they won't have to work at some company that clashes values just to meet ends.
I'd been waiting for GuildWars to dip below $39.99 forever. And it hasn't. My worry is that by the time the game reaches $19.99 no one else will play it anymore. I am just too busy with Katamari and Xmen legends right now.
Very good post.

ROFLMAO dude man I am in tears. Can never eat food and read slashdot at the same time. Almost choked to death.

Xen is closer to VMware if anything.

All hollywood films follow the same formula. It's so structured, you can't find anything out of the norm anymore.
- first 10 minutes, action.
- the middle, plot.
- last 10 minutes, action. Use up budget.
Where are the messed up films? It's like a lost art. And why are there so many wannabe films. Every decent movie has a dozen imitations.

I have no problem if the fan fry. I have a problem however with the warranties getting nulled when you try to replace the fan yourself.
That is incredible. Except they shouldn't have thrown in the artist drawings of the 2 squids combating a whale. That just add confusion and hype.

I still would prefer a small desktop with a handle (like Shuttle boxes) over an overpriced underperforming laptop.

The gun games were the best. Holding up a plastic pistol for 2 hrs fighting off ducks and zombies will give you forearms of steel.
Geee.... you are throwing this comment out like it's your own personal experience. And then asking us if it's alright.

When M$ makes good comments, it usually means they are only a step away from copying you. OR buying you out. Your wish might come true.
