Dollar for dollar IDE and SATA are the same price literally. Though I am convinced SATA never really dominated. The number of places I see using IDE far outpace SATA.
Only way SATA II will be successful is performing like top SCSI drives at IDE price.
You used to need a.com website to start a company. I guess all you need now is a boat for startups.... and upgrade to battleship enterprise status later.

Well if penguins became extinct, linux is screwed. Let's change mascot before it's too late. I recommend we use the "Devil" to represent Linux. Everyone agrees with the devil, everyone fights over god/gods.
I had a 1 year subscription. Then my subscription stopped, and I continued to receive issues after issues for another ridiculous FULL year. I was like WTF?!
Finally it gave me a $10 renewal card, I couldn't resist. They upped the price for next year if you become a new subscriber.
They are diluting themselves in the market. If they launch systems this close, they need to drop support quicker. For example, they should only make only DS and GBA games in 2005.
How about manufacturing AMD motherboards. The Intel chip + Intel board is a ridiculously stable combination. AMD should have a combo of their own to counter.
PLEASE, can we get some opinions from some other schools please. There is nothing this professor is saying that hasn't already been said a thousand times on slashdot.
And why do these professors always speak for the "companies" when they spend half a life time in a school institutions. Anyone else absolutely sick of MIT?
The best part about Quake 1 was Coop and team fortress. We don't need team fortess since we technically have plenty of team alternatives like Wolfenstein. But Coop modes are really lacking in today's games.
If a game came out for $49.99 in EB/Gamestop, it stays that way for 6 months.
If a game came out for $49.99 in Bestbuy, there will be a single weekend where the game will be available for $34.99 or $39.99. After that, it will stay $49.99 for 6 months.
If you don't mind paying the full price, it makes zero difference.
Not to worry. As I learned from the movie Armageddon, we can just sent a couple construction workers to the asteroid, plant a dynamite on the asteroid itself.... blow it up before it hits earth. They'll have no problem volunteering as long as they never have to pay taxes again.
Wow we have the same person pretending to be 3 different Anonymous cowards. Wonderful. If you are going to tell people they are stupid at least back your shit up.
Those components are made by the same company, and that has absolutely nothing to do with supply chain arguement.
I am actually more pro-Intel than AMD, but I am stating the facts. And you Intel fanboy can't swallow it. You can gladly tell me my comments are stupid if you have something better to say. You definitely don't.
The person writing the document should have enough software/hardware resources. So many engineering specs are written too early in the phase when there is nothing tangible. It just becomes a fairy tale document.
Do you people even understand SUPPLY CHAIN?! It's not just about pumping out high volumes. IF I was Dell, I would clearly pick AMD no question. Why?
Cause AMD does not spread their engineering and manufacturing resources thin across hundreds of products. AMD don't make motherboards, network cards, serial ATA controllers, optical cards etc.
AMD's only focus is PROCESSORS! From a supply chain 101 perspective, AMD would be golden cause they only focus on the thing they supply you. If you were building a house would you like to buy wood from Sears or a company that only focus on wood? It's a no brainer. I respect Intel, but they are playing so dirty.
The dream motherboard would have 10 PCI slots. That thing only have 3 PCI slots.
Most I have ever owned was on an Abit board with 5 PCI, 1 ISA. I swear, PCI slots mean so much to users, yet 90% of the board out there have 4 max.
In castlevania Symphony of the night. You can play the game straight.
I was shocked to find out the castle flips over and become a whole new game.
I was extremely shocked to find out the castle is playable as the whip guy.
I was beyond shocked to find out the castle flipped is playable as the whip guy.
Agree. There are only 3 things that I still must stick to windows.
1.) Outlook (not outlook express)
2.) Games
3.) Graphics Apps
Well te UT framerate part falls along the lines of graphics card issues more than the processor. Blame nvidia/ATI for that.

LOL, can't wait till the day they get OpenOffice in the kernel. They mind as well throw MySql databases in there too.

Only problem I have is they called this guy a "LEAKER".

I never understood the MSDN subscriptions either. It's a subscription of never ending betas.
LOL! Interviewing any chief execs and getting insightful competent responses is like winning the lottery.

In Canada, they can't offer naked DSL since the lines would oxidize and fail. Folks, I am not making this stuff up.

Geeee... lemme see. Until Symantec joined forces with Veritas, its products were primarily 100% windows based.
Hmm.... since they favor Microsoft so heavily, wouldn't it be natural for them to talk smack about non-M$ browsers like Firefox.

That's garbage. This is STRICTLY POLITICAL. The day Dell offers AMD processors, Intel market shares will be cut significantly.
