There is this myth that the people who work in the FBI agencies are really really smart.
With the exception of forensics, I honestly don't know if the techies in the organization are even as ahead as the techies in the corporate/opensource sector.
They say you can tell how stupid or smart someone is when they open their mouths. FBI built an intelligent reputation by not saying much.

Sony-haters need to know when the war is over. It doesn't matter if Xbox reign supreme now, it's too late. The focus is already in the next generation.
This kind of article bugs me. Fact being SGI is supposedly way ahead of linux in this department with 1024 processors. Linux at 64 shouldn't be that big a fuss.
If they really want to make the game worthwhile, why not license an engine through Id Software and use a cheaper quake3 renderer to program a game. Writing a java game isn't going to get it much acceptance. MIT just don't know how to use student's time. They mind as well have them write an ascii game in Perl.
OMG this is fucking crazy. Is like Microsoft finally losing to linux. And then Bill Gates paid Linus himself 6 billion dollars to rename Windows to Linux.
So is EA Madden football now ESPN 2k6? WTF is going on. I say again, WTF is going on with the gaming industry. Someone start another petition! Please, this is monopoly to the extreme getting way out of hand.
Dude you must obviously not own an iPod. It's overpriced and overrated. Problems equally bad. My experience tells me...
- It costs $99 to replace a battery. Mine died in 1 year. - No radio reception. - To play thru your car radio, you need something like a iTrip, griffith player. Which I swear is the most painful and user-UNfriendly thing to tweak. - Controls are way too sensitive. The lock is not accessible if you use any iTrip. - All accessories are complete rip offs. - Other players have better bass. - You need to install the bulky iTunes to transfer. I wish I could just do it in windows explorer extension.
VCRs in the old days supposedly prevented standard RCA-to-RCA cable copying to another VCR. Plenty of people figured out ways to get around that. This cable will be no different. It's a matter of time before a crack comes along. RIAA is just an empire waiting to collapse.
Yeah, while I am absolutely against piracy. From the consumer standpoint, we have had alot of garbage shoved our way. Movies that were heavily marketed, and promoted only to be a disappointment.
People just like to make their $$$ worthwhile. The movie and music industry does nothing after selling you a lemon. It just ends up another bad CD/DVD on the shelf.
The most ironic part about all these bit rates is that few people can actually tell the difference between 128 and 384kbps. Just like most people couldn't tell whether songs come off a cassette or a CD or an mp3.
I am so tempted to try that allofmp3 service. But I know of a Russian employee who I work with. And if he doesn't trust it, why should I?
That's probably why iTunes and other music stores don't even see allofmp3 as a real competitor. There is a risk associated with putting your credit card up against a Russian site.
That is the best part of the game. I know so many folks who bought GTA san andreas just to blow shit up. While I really enjoy the missions and the plot, IMHO few people actually play the game straight.
Last time comcast sent out the notice, it took weeks before my area actually got the improvement. I think they target the inner cities / urban areas first for speed boost.
I have enough hard time setting up my website with decent security while allowing only Googlebot to come. Is it me or does this seem like alot of work to fight spam. Seriously shouldn't my ISP do that for me. Comcast does a mediocre job. The idea is to have me do nothing.
I dropped the idea of Matrix Online since so many beta testers complained about the experience.
I was going to try World of Warcraft since I heard nothing but positive feedback. But this kind of buffet subscription plan is really making me think twice.
The problem with all these DRM issues is that no one ever brings up what happen if the artist is deceased. The record company still owns the song and making a killing.
Rule of thumb, if the artist is deceased the songs should be automatically free. None of this 2pac-after-death-release bullshit. He's dead how does he make music?!
Gates and these millionaires never talk enough about these things. They mention artists should be paid. Blah, now back to DRM.
US cares because their billion dollar budget films are available down the street for $1. I have traveled to HK, and I can honestly say piracy borderlines hell down there.
A HK native can spend $10 to watch a high budget HK film which sucks in comparison to a $10 Terminator 2 with superior budget, graphics etc. With a superior product, the HK entertainment market really belongs to Americans.
People will pirate either way. Whether Americans give a shit or not is because it is their turf.
Shortage is trying to find a Nvidia Geforce 6600GT AGP in any store. There are plenty of ps2 and xboxes to go around in comparison.

Without P2P and all this downloading, few people could care for broadband.
I am sure somebody from the telcom side would stand up to RIAA etc. Otherwise comcast etc can prepare to lose a number of customers.
But you forgot...

I am good with literally every fps game... except on CounterStrike. I get pwned like no tomorrow, every server, every time.
There has to be cheaters all over! Honestly I have never played a fps so long and sucked with so little improvement.

This is not flamebait. This is fact. GC is a system not a hit.

Why I don't give a fuck...
1.) All the characters will wear EA branded clothes.
2.) All the thiefs will wear ESPN/sega clothes.
3.) The sims character will only watch EA sportcenter.
4.) The only profession available in the sims world is programmer for EA.
5.) All the commercials between the show will be Madden commercials.
6.) When the characters are in the shower, they'll sing EA slogans.
7.) The sim dating service will give each other EA sports games only.
8.) There will be a EA monopoly holiday that requires all the sim characters to work even more overtime.
My drives use to die every 6 months until I added a fan and begin running open cased.
My current IBM deskstar is running a record 3 years.
I got ETF from fileshack.com. There is currently no line. I was expecting to wait for hours in the queue, and my wait time was 20 seconds.

Well I can't wait for the rumbling driving wheel and vibrating wireless mouse now.

Of all the M$ products, the only one I truely find amazingly good is "M$ streets and trips".
I have been using this since 2002, and yearly I can say the versions get better and better. Not to mention this thing is virtually bug free.
It's really unfortunate that M$ can't engineer all their products at this level.
