    Go back and look at the irc logs that the dev's were on. It took quite a bit to free those devices.

    It doesn't matter what sim card you have, it's the phones modem that matters. A sim card just says who you are to the network.

    Double tapping the shift key turns on caps lock, tapping again turns off caps lock.
    Just like it does on android phones. It's really simple and gets rid of that extra not needed key.

    They didn't get rid of the caps lock key they just made shift do double duty.

    There is an easy solution. The company should only say they will support this version of software, then for the hardware have a test partition that runs through hardware tests.

    It is only when you involve government that there can be conflicts. It is only with government control that you can get into pointless 'rental' disputes about how you never actually owned the things you paid for.

    I think you mean to use the word people instead of government. Otherwise you're just coming off as anti-government.

    Good isn't using the J2ME

    They are using Apaches harmony along with some android libraries which gets compiled to a Java .class file then recompiled to a the dalvik vm

    Oracle is counting on people getting confused about the issue and using some vague VM patents to get their way. The patents in question could apply to any virtual machine. Such as the .Net platform

    The reason for suing Google is Google is using the Java language but not the Java virtual machine. Since people see Java they are confusing the issue and thinking that Android is a Java vm when it's not. Oracle doesn't like that Google is getting the Java language for free and wants a piece of the action.

    There are filters on the market to make applications only show up on certain harder it's compatible with.

    So that's not a Android market failing that's a developer failing.

    Why should everything use the same database? A file system is a type of database. SQL is another. Each has it's own purpose. SQLite is contained in a file anyways. A separate database server wouldn't have to be setup for this.

    While I agree that Microsoft's IE is bloated and shouldn't show that dialog on start. I strongly disagree that somehow users that chose another browser like Chrome or safari will be confused. Those two alternative options are much easier for a user then the default IE.

    Mozy uses data centers all over Utah.

    There is not a data center in Sandy that I am aware of.

    I had a similar thing happen to me. Browsers really could use better plugin controls I should be able to disable any plugin without having to uninstall it.. Why does someone need to view a pdf in a browser anyways?

    I am on a netbook so I am back on linux. (didn't come with a windows cd)

    A worm can move through a pdf file quick.

    The new ipod Shuffle. While you can plug any random pair of headphones, you won't be able to control the ipod.

    This hack could be done to any usb keyboard.

    A firmware flashing utility that refused to flash if the firmware image isn't from the manufactor would be annoying. There are usefull firmwares that are hacked. Dvd firmware that removes regions comes to mind.

    While a bios is a firmware. A firmware is not a bios.

    This hack also requires physical access, which means there are other ways to compromise the system.
