  1. Virginia too on N. Carolina May Ban Tesla Sales To Prevent "Unfair Competition" · · Score: 1

  4. Original Actors on Disney Announces "One Star Wars Movie Per Year" Plan · · Score: 1

They'll be using Hamill, Fisher, and Ford again. No problem with the age of the actors. Because, like the last Star Wars movie produced, it will all be Animated. It's going to be a new cartoon every year. That's one reason they cancelled the Saturday morning follow-on of Clone Wars: don't want to saturate the audience.

Your misunderstand (probably intentionally, this is Slashdot after all).

Let's say Adam makes a list of gun stores that verifiably have provided guns without background checks, in a state where such checks are voluntary, to people who use them to commit crimes.

Just so you know, there are no stores (in the U.S.) where guns can be purchased without a background check; it's not voluntary..

  10. Animation / Voice Actors on Lucas Says Ford, Fisher and Hamill May Return For Next Star Wars · · Score: 3, Insightful

The last Star Wars movie was entirely a CGI animated feature-length cartoon. Is there some reason to believe that the sequel movies will be live action, and not CGI? Obviously, if it's animation then the appearance of the original actors is not a factor; they will be voice actors. This is Disney we're talking about, after all.

Laser is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation, not Light Amplification by Ztimulated Emission of Radiation. Therefore the 's' in laser is unvoiced and should be pronounced "lay-sir" not "lay-zer." Actually, no, that's still not right. The A in Amplification is a short A not a long one, so the word should be pronounced "lah-sir." But wait, the E in emission is long, so it should actually be "lah-seer."

That's why one always uses finger quotes when referring to a device that I call a "Layzer".

Doesn't the fact that the content doesn't scroll at all (i.e., that there is no rubber banding effect) provide the exact same information?

Not really. I've had scrollable content not scroll at all because the iOS was stalled out thinking. Then I've had content that looked like it was supposed to scroll but gave no feedback.

You'd still have to make an "impotent attempt to scroll" to see the rubber band effect so it really doesn't save any step

    You're both holding it wrong.
