Question how can any spam be trusted? OK so the ISPs will allow these ips to get through? If so all the spammers have to do is forge some headers and we are now getting supposedly "legit spam"? I see something majorly wrong with this. I dont think we should make any exceptions for anyone. Spam is Spam.
I really have to give major props to these guys. Once in school I wrote a basic chess game. The algorithims in it are hard as hell to write. And even harder to get them to win games. These guys must really know there stuff and I just have to say good job and good luck to all who entered!
Truthfully its a pretty good idea. Yes you wont get paid as much as usual but you do get a lot of benifits working for the government. And very good job stability considering they are in desperate need of good IT people with knowledge and experience. Also you know they wont pull an Enron on you. Just a few of my thoughts...
This is very murky water we are in right now. I am not 100% on the DMCA and what is says/means. I was under the impression that it was only applied to copyrighted closed sorce stuff. I must be wrong could someone please explain how the DMCA really effects Linux and The Opensource community?
Get rid of AOL and it will force people to learn how to use the computer. It will help get rid of spam since a lot of it seems to be directed to AOLers who dont know what it is. I say no more aol. Set everyone up with a nice linux box connected to MyLinuxISP.
I think they should add an 802.11b antenna to it. That why I dont have to point my omni out the window in order to get on Mobilestar or Houston Wireless Freenets.
There is something definately wrong with the picture on cnn.com. This picture looks very wrong someone must have been thinking bad thoughts at the time.
I was wondering what kind of backup googles uses now for all its info? What happens if one day a script kiddie breaks in and rm -rf / all the boxes? Do they have tape backups? How many etc. I also wonder how much they spend on it.
If anything all this is - is some very good Wine work. I very much doubt in the time LindowsOS has been in development they have been able to write a windows compatbiltiy layer or something like it. I would like the commend the Wine people out there they are doing a great job and should keep up the great work. But as for LindowsOS this looks like a ploy to try to get Linux Newbies to switch over because it has some fancy styling and Wine installed. IF they can prove by randomly installing any windows based software that there setup works then I might become a beleaver until then im sticking with my Debian.
How about using the NSA's version of linux in the UK? Its secure and upto government standards. I would love to see the UK move all its boxes over to linux. Lets just hope they don't use NT sys admins!
How about wireless 802.11 stuff on an airplace too? I would live to be able to wip out the laptop and have inet connection no more listening to that stupid person next to you on the plane.
I bought a HDTV last year. Yes the picture is great but the price/performance is definitely not worth it. I have digital cable and some other HDTV supporting stuff but currently its not worth it. I get 15 HDTV channels. I would say wait for 2006. Everyone will need one then and prices will drop drasticly. Plus the current tvs havent really been tested a lot. Once they all start hitting the market they will be tweaked much better and I would say the picture will increase in quality 2x.
Don't Buy Yet. Coming from an HDTV owner spending 5K for a TV isnt worth it yet.
From what I hear from friends at BE they auction is going to be like a tech garage sale. They will be auctioning off computers, desks, lamps, chairs, servers, racks and lots of extra parts. I may call up my friends and have them pick me up some servers and racks cheap.
Check out the FAQ at wearcam.org. Its a pretty interesting read. Why dont we have a World Subjectrights Day everyday?!?! This is something that shouldnt be ignored and should have more attention givin to it. Too many people/companies dont take accountability for there actions and this has to stop!
The equiptment is cheaper easier to make/get and can get further range. I can get upto 15 miles in Houston with 2 15db direction antennas that you can get for 40$ a peice.
The retail price for one of these is expected to be $150 from what I hear. I wouldn't say its a very bad price. Its also supposed to come with some other nice goodies including an emulator for x86 only supposed to be used for coding heheh:).
Why would they go with the desktop version when they want a rackmount server? You can get the Netra X1 for 50$ less and it comes with the exact same hardware but in rackmount case. Check it here.
I just use pocket fusion!

They have far to many and too strict regulations. If they would loosen up a bit we all could have broadband.

What about the FreeBSD network stack that is now in Win2k and XP? Microsoft is using it in "supposed" enterprise apps.
