Won't happen. Unlike power lines, there is no limit to the number of WiFi providers operating in a given area, so competition among different providers is possible and desirable. Think of cellphone access as a model here, not local telephone service.
This is like something I do with regular junk mail. Whenever I order or sign up for anything that involves snail mail, I always enter a different middle initial or a slightly different first name in the form. That way, I can track who sells my home address.
As an added bonus, you get to receive 3-4 additional publisher's clearinghouse sweepstakes entries based on the different names.

So why not open your mouth and talk to some of them ?
Because your wearable computer (AKA cellphone) can talk to EVERYONE in a 100 yard radius INSTANTLY and determine for you which will be likely to be the most interesting for a voice-based chat.
The United states is amongst only six countries that impose the death penalty on juveniles.
Technically speaking, the US does not impose the death penality on juveniles. Several US states do. 17 US states have a minimum age of 16, and 5 US states have a minimum of 17.
The US Supreme Court ruled in 1988 that children under the age of 16 cannot be executed.
iTunes is really just a fancy organizer for Quicktime. The Quicktime libraries are so big, and so useful that any multimedia app for the Mac uses them for everything.
The Windows Media Player for OS 9 was "powered by Quicktime", hilariously enough.
ahhh, but seriously, you could probably build a jammer that would flood the frequencies they were using to detect what you were listening to. It wouldn't have to be too strong, because the information you're sending out is only a accidental side effect, anyway.
But seriously, is what radio station you're listening to really that personal? Some people feel the need to let EVERYONE in a two and a half mile radius know exactly what radio station they're listening to...
Isn't this kind of a waste? I mean, unless they tinker the thing to be REALLY sensitive, and thus flickering between different ads constantly, won't the radio stations follow pretty much the same pattern every day?
They could just take samples of the pattern a few days a year, and program the sign to meet that pattern for the rest of the year. I doubt the demographics really change that dramatically that suddenly that the board needs to change on-the-fly for every driver.
Taking the bus is NOT the same as taking the train, my friend.
I have taken a lot of rides on each, and let me tell you, the train rides are all faded together, while bus rides I can each recall distinctly in my mind, because taking the bus is an adventure. It's a game with different rules each time you play.
It's like being on a ship out to sea. The bus driver is in charge, can set his own rules, and everyone on the bus depends on one and other for their own survival. No matter what horrible, horrible things can and will happen on the way you're stuck until you die or reach your destination.
I have a hub that apparently runs at the ideal temperature for incubating ant eggs. At least 3 times ants have come in and tried to build an ant-nursery underneath this hub, which is just sitting on the floor.
Maybe they were feeding the babies my lost packets?
Most people don't pirate music. Only a very small percent (perhaps 1% of the population) pirate enough music to fill an entire CD. Most people have a few mp3's that they got when trying napster and thats it.
Most people don't buy music. Most people think napster was a web site called "napster.com" where you could just download whatever new-fangled mp3 music files you wanted. They heard about it on NPR.
The 1% of the public that is pirating music used to be part of the 5% of the public that buys much new music at all (12-24 year olds). It's the music industry's own fault for marketing an overpriced product to a group with little spending money and a low value of their own time.
Those are good tips, but QuickASCII has been configured to run by default best for the default settings for Terminal.app, i.e. it prints out 80 x 24, black-on-white, etc, unlike the original Apple player.
I'm working on ASCII output for audio files. Apple has a demo of a Quicktime-based graphic equalizer here,
and I'm working on converting it to output in ASCII. I only opened the project about a week and a half ago.
There are countless possible improvements, so if you have a clever idea join the project or send me a patch with your work.
Exactly. Even a small change on our part could lead to dramatic, unpredictable results. Whatever the good changes you listed, are not worth the risk of undertaking an unknown, unpredictable and irreversable change to the atmosphere. Most people not living in NORAD don't have an alternative to our atmosphere in case something goes horribly wrong.
Can I sue Disney if my grandfather had an idea a 100 years ago about creating a cartoon on mischievous mouse?
You can if your Grandfather was smart enough to copyright and register his story treatment with the WGA before showing it to Disney executives, like this guy was.
Then he's pretty exceptional. Most of the racial tensions in the world have persisted for many, many generations, even when the initial conflict was long forgotten. The people involved must not be questioning what they are doing, or else I hope they would have stopped long ago.

Wow, I can't believe how many of my own ideas you've expressed so well here. How come you never have mod points when you need them?

The best way is to build a farraday cage around it (and the antenna).

I'd like to see that person with the plackard give up his/her lifestyle for one of a Bangladeshi.
- Some tips:
- Look for a job in the red-hot rice-farming sector. If you're lucky you can be one of the 65% of inhabitants that have jobs.
- There are plenty of ways to stretch your $10/week paycheck. Make your house out of mud, and rebuild it after the flood season every year.
- Severe overpopulation has its benefits. You will always have plenty of available roommates.

HOWTO: here.
Nah, there are lots of differences between making something culturally illegal and legally illegal. One is a lot harder to amend, for instance.
