If they had built encryption in from the beginning it would have been obsoleted long ago. Would you still want to be running WEP? Then we'd all have to upgrade our routers every year to stay on the latest encryption that hasn't been compromised. Having endpoint to endpoint encryption is the right answer.
And if that's not enough, we need an open and free internet and we need carriers to not be messing with any of my bits and bytes.
After my return experience with NewEgg where I bought a defective gaming motherboard and took three days of back and forth emails with tech support before finally having to pay for my own return shipping I switched to Amazon. Yes, I'll pay $5 more for that motherboard, but it takes 30 seconds to return it and the replacement will arrive in 24 hours.
Security by obscurity isn't a security mechanism, rather a puzzle... If getting into your house is simply a matter of finding where you left the Hide-a-key then your house was never secure in the first place.
you can see that a 50 cal rifle bullet will go through almost 5,000 sheets of paper.
This is why I can't stand it when on TV bullets are stopped just by squatting behind a couch. You really think some foam and fabric will stop bullets?:-)
How do you know the pair you tried on a Target or JCP wasn't tried on 5 minutes before you? What's the difference between that and this other than location?
I still remember when reddit was simply a hole in the wall. Now they are the new fad like myspace, digg, etc. Trust me, in 10 years nobody will know what the fuck you mean when you say "reddit". The site is simply terrible.
Agreed.
with profit no human should have but as a whole.
You don't get to decide what's too little or too much. That's not how this works at all.
Slashdot will still be trucking along.
I'm honestly shocked they haven't crashed and burned already.
This has been solved for 1000 times over. They call with the softphone app on their PC or smartphone using the corporate PBX, rather their own number. Many hospitals and doctors already use this. Lots of tech support staff use this.
I think we should just turn off the ability to block or spoof CallerID (except for the verified commercial numbers who are granted exceptions after proving their identity). Problem solved.
Current display technologies don't use these "subpixels". CRTs and plasma displays still use them, but those are pretty much obsolete now. Grab a magnifying glass and look closely at the picture on a CRT or plasma screen, and you can see the subpixels. If you use the magnifying glass on an LCD or OLED screen, you don't see the subpixels, because the color of the pixel is not made up of 3 subpixels, but just one.
This is something I have been hoping for for quite some time! This will lead to incredible resolution for VR headsets and that will make all of the difference in how immersive they are.
Why aren't there any distributed indexes? Seems silly to have an entire distributed distribution system without a matching index.
Ah if only I had mod points! +1
This is something I ask every single time this comes up. Why are the indexes not distributed the same way the torrent itself is? This seriously cannot be that hard to solve.
By that logic I should fire my company for making me work after hours and weekends on their projects.
If you're an hourly employee, its different. If you are a salaried employee you are paid to do a set of tasks and projects. If you complete those that's really what matters. If I need to work on side project for 20 minutes at 1PM and then need to work on a work project at 2AM it all works out in the end.
I mean really, its like its all starting over again? How long before Netflix and other streaming companies add commercials? CableTV started as a Pay TV with no commercials, and then added them when they wanted to more revenue...

I suspect it was a third party seller. A-Z Returns apply to any items fulfilled by Amazon, but not to 3rd party sellers. That is what is changing.

I am excited about this! They needed to do something new and fresh. This should work well and Jodie is a fantastic choice.
My only complaint about Doctor Who (all BBC shows actually) is they don't make enough episodes per season.
which space other program is better than NASA?
We don't even have a ship capable of putting a man in space anymore. So pretty much all of them.
And we'll have the best space program in the world.
It is absolutely legal for a city to collect income tax. MANY cities do just that.
You missed the part about the Washington State Constitution banning city income taxes. NY City is not in Washington.
Once again, please RTFA. Sheriff has video. It is not being released to the public.

I know you didn't read the article, because if you did you'd know they have the whole thing on video. Is there any better evidence??
Where I live they are on the internet and connect to central station over VPN. Some of the older systems used MPLS, but I think those are mostly gone.
used clothes from Amazon, just what I wanted.

Of course, and rightly so! Why in the world would we tax them for losing money? Wait, why did you even comment. Wait... why I am feeding a troll?

If you plugged your 120v toaster into a 220v socket is the toaster to blame or the human?

Because you couldn't be any more wrong.

Will be gone in a few years. Fads never last.
Spoken like someone who tried smartphone VR and has no idea what Oculus and Vive bring to the table.

Apple has the same obsession and it is ruining iMessage!
