That's great if you are talking about introducing something new to people but by now a majority of the population understands how browsers work and would be put off by suddenly changing things around because some usability expert in a glass castle decides it makes more sense.
Who exactly is looking for all these crazy changes to the way browsers work? I am starting to think that browser design has become "art for the sake of art". What happened to function over form?
You mean besides the constant freeze-ups, having to reboot between switching applications, unhappy mac faces at start up. OS 6-9 almost drove Apple out of business which is why Microsoft had to throw a ton of cash at them and Jobs came back.
This website used to cater to nerds who care about free and open platforms but at some point did a complete 180 to support the most closed and controlled platform in the world.
Both of those died of natural causes and were dying long before Microsoft became as overpowering as it did. You forget that IBM was equally evil and controlling back then. This was a battle of two giants - not David and Goliath.
What other OS makers were crushed by Microsoft exactly?
And is integrating IE much different than requiring iTunes for everything you do? How's IE doing nowadays anyway?
Apple doesn't commit the same crimes against freedom that Microsoft does but that doesn't make them innocent.
To the guy who said - Don't trust Microsoft - don't trust ANY company. This isn't about trust - it's more about using each other. Look how much the formerly evil IBM did for Linux?
With the way the Apple juggernaut has been steamrolling it would make sense to me for Microsoft and Open Source in general to find a way of co-existing. Say what you want about Microsoft, but Apple's heavy-handed, strict controls and policies makes Microsoft look like a pussy cat in comparison.
And how many end users know how to edit HTML in their emails or even want to? And how many prefer to send their emails in plain text or Rich Text? Or what if I am texting it to somebody?
If somebody asked me for directions to my house - I would much rather send them something I can copy and paste straight from Google's site (which is likely how this will work) into my email that is less intimidating.
I'm curious - are you anti-zip files, too? I mean why zip 5 files into one when you could just attach all 5 to an email.
You do realize that it wouldn't be some instant massive drop. People won't start dying tomorrow if they don't have 3 or more kids. It would be a gradual decrease - assuming it could actually be enforced worldwide.
At the end of the day - it is irresponsible to have more than 3 kids and should be illegal to have more than 5. People who have 8 or more should be forced to clean prison toilets with their tongues.
Well considering we reward people who have 8 or more kids with TV show deals I can see how easy it will be to get to 8 million. Personally I believe people should have mandatory sterilization after they produce two offspring but I guess that may come across a bit draconian.
How were they overpriced? They sold at the same exact price any other brick and mortar book store sold new books at - the price stamped on the back by the publisher. You want used books - go to the Strand.
If it's a good idea does it matter where it came from? Days are shorter in the winter so the impact of the sun is less substantial and as somebody else pointed out - it doesn't matter what color it is with snow on it.
âoeWe send out 1,500 suspension letters every day,â(TM)â(TM)
"Neither the Registry nor State Police keep tabs on the number of people wrongly tagged by the system. But Gass estimates in his lawsuit that hundreds might have received revocation notices in error since the system was installed."
That's a DAY. Do you really believe that only 2 of them are problems? Most are probably just fixed without people making a big stink because they are used to the government screwing up.
I can only assume you live in some small town where only 3 trials come up a year. I assure you that if you ask anybody in a major city what the backlog would be like if there were no plea agreements they would tell you it would be huge. Right now, in NYC, there is about a 2 year wait for trial. Take a look at the Caylee Anthony murder case. She was found in December 2008 and the trial just ended a few weeks ago.
It's estimated that 90% of convictions are from plea agreements. So take that 2 years and multiply it by 10. What do you get? Decades.

Do you realize that the concept of "swear" words is completely ridiculous, arbitrary, and vary greatly from culture to culture?

I guess you never bought Apple products in the 90s 0 the Gil Amelio days before Jobs came back. OS 6-9 made Windows ME look like perfection.
Pretty much everybody in Dubai speaks English.
Netscape was awful. Even the worst version of IE was better than Netscape. Even without integrating IE in the OS it would have died.

And if you only support companies without patent lawsuits pending then I think you'll find yourself pretty limited on choices.

So intelligent people are anti-social, too? I guess I would also include snarky AC's.
So you're saying that people who know about computers are anti-social? Talk about captain obvious.
Is that what they are doing? Seems like a weird way of doing it. Not sure how hacking PlayStation network or Pron.com is revealing corruption, though.

You severely misunderstand how shorteners work.
The URL would be more like:
http://g.co/A5t8324Y
Yes because it is much better to send somebody a URL that looks like this:
http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=42+St+-+Port+Authority+Bus+Terminal+%4040.757308,-73.989735&daddr=350+5th+Avenue,+New+York,+NY+10118+(Empire+State+Building)&hl=en&ll=40.75267,-73.987169&spn=0.009899,0.016158&sll=40.752459,-73.987169&sspn=0.009899,0.016158&geocode=FTzobQIdmQGX-w%3BFUvGbQIdERKX-yFzdY-mZOGFkSlpdBGzqVnCiTEsrLWKpFygrA&mra=ls&dirflg=w&z=16
Instead of using the shortener.

The only secure operating system is one not connected to any network, locked in a closet with no user interface.
