Why would I pay a premium for intentionallylimited hardware only to end up running an OS I could use on any other machine in the world?
simple really you wish to develop applications for Windows, Linux and OSX and android and iphone and windows mobile.
Buy a Mac and you cover most bases.
Do you understand that this is true only because it is a pain in the ass (if possible at all) to run OSX on hardware other than Apple's? I.e. due to vendor lock in.
I honestly don't get the debate. Either buy it or don't. But this issue/whining comes so frequently, I have to wonder if its from people who want to get one but can't afford it, can't talk their boss/SO into it, or just too cheap.
From my experience -- It is mostly from Mac owners trying to justify the money spent.
I remember when I was in school (non-US), we had an "alternative creationist theories" lessons, but I remember our teacher saying: "The problem is, there is not much to tell about other theories, because they are... well, not theories in scientific sense of the word." So we had like half of the single lesson (~ 20 min) dedicated to all other theories (I don't even remember them now:) )
I don't know about computers, but I know that usage of cell phones is explicitly forbidden. They don't have their own carriers, but near the South Korea borders there is a weak signal.
I'm sure the same thing applies to the Internet, even if they are allowed to have computers.
Well, this is not the way you read bible, from first page to the last.
You just read a passage or two, whenever you feel like it. So the appropriate question to ask someone is not "Have you read the bible?", but "Do you read the bible?"
Disclaimer: I'm an atheist, but bible is still the greatest book.
I just want to be very clear that what he did does NOT classify him as a "hacker" nor should what he did be termed "a hack." Based on this one deed, he should be classified as a "programmer" and the end result should be termed a "program" or "game."
Actually, this is exactly the original meaning of the term
hacker
Also, I think many people would love to be able to develop small apps for mobile phones using Python. This opens a whole new market for this language! Very welcome change, indeed!
There's little in this world in which the only way to succeed is true intelligence; hard work, organization, and time investment can almost always substitute (and are usually more important).

I often use it with /c option to be sure it substitutes The Right Thing, like this:
For every change found it will ask you whether to substitute or skip (or quit)
Here I am, brain the size of planet, doing psychiatry for a bunch of freaks...
You got me there and revealed my evil plans! Now I should work on a new one!
Seriously though, I was referring to the article being in this same "whiny" category, GGP was referring to.
BTW, I wouldn't buy Mac even if it costs $500, because I use Linux anyway, so don't really care.

Modern medicine may SAVE people that "should have" died and not passed on their genes.
Like, for example, medicine can save the life of a person, who was hit by some retard, driving a car?
You see, natural physical fitness became less important in modern society and medicine just helps to get it out of the equation.
So, I wouldn't say that medicine hurt the evolution, however, it definitely shifted its focus.
I'd probably be in contact with more people from college and a few exes ...
which is not necessarily a good thing ;)
BTW, I think google captcha is the best sobriety test. I usually need a cup of strong coffee to pass it, even when sober.
And I bet my wifi card will still not work...

I'd have to agree, because right now I feel bad for actually having ReiserFS on all of my computers.
In the article the guy says he is a consultant. This explains everything

For me, regularly crashes, when I play flash videos. It can be a flash-on-linux related issue though.

And they all will be honored with Darwin award.
So, you have a free Wii?
Dude! Now, I want to try this and it is your fault!
Chances are, you'll end up buying from GoDaddy or NS, but with the retailer's extra charge.
You know, that sounds like a really good idea to me. I think I'll stop worrying about everything, unless tiger attacks me, starting now!
Thanks! I feel much better now!

This is a sign of a good management, actually.
