I always find it comforting that the person responsible for this thing risks his life too, so there is a great incentive to pay close attention to everything, starting with preparation.
I often fly to/from US via Europe and yes, this is the shit they do specifically for *flights to US*.
In Frankfurt they even have a special part of the terminal (like 4-6 or so gates) designated for flights to US and to get into that area you have to get stripped of your dignity.
It would be especially awesome if you could also pump the extra energy "into the grid" so to speak during the day. That can even make it profitable. I heard they have some program like that in Germany. Too lazy to google to verify.
The main reason why H1B program sucks actually has nothing to do with number.
Here is how it works (for those of you who don't know).
In April of each year, USCIS starts accepting applications for the visas that open in October of the same year. The quota usually quickly runs out, like within a couple or so weeks. (Yeah, this is a problem with number, but bear with me).
Now suppose a company finds a highly skilled non-US worker it needs. Say, sometime in May. The best a company can offer him is to wait for 1.5 years, before he can join. If he is actively looking for a job, do you think he will accept that? And if he does, with that kind of involvement, he will sure expect to stay in US for more than 2-4 years (typical H1B term). And so *this* is where H1B actually becomes an immigration issue.
Just raising the quotas won't do much, at best it will bring worst case wait period down to ~1 year. What will make a difference is making those quotas monthly or even weekly.
The real hypocricy is US looking down on China for this, while being the biggest contributor to that pollution.
I like the idea Ross Jackson has suggested in Occupy World Street that we should measure country's pollution not by the amount directly produced, but by the amount coused by *consumption*. I.e. if you live in US and have a phone made in Chine, the pollution caused by manufacturing that phone should count against US, not China.
I only said that they work the same in your thought experiment.
No, they don't, because as soon as you change the key element (the gun), it becomes a completely different experiment. Can you substitute Arsenic for Carbon in an experiment? Of course not, because they are completely different elements... kind of like guns and explosives.
Yes, they are.
Now, this time, try really-really hard to use those neurons you have been blessed with:
Here's a gedankenexperiment for you: imagine a [gun, hand grenade, flamethrower, mortar, nuclear warhead, baseball bat] sitting on the floor in the middle of a room. Now, try to think of all the ways that thing could cause harm to someone, without their direct intervention.
Let me know if you come up with anything better than, "someone might trip over it."
So, please, take your bullshit "experiments" to Yahoo or Huffpo.
More education? Sounds great! Now, how do we implement that?
Idiots (who are the biggest problem) won't bother taking any sorts of classes (already freely available BTW). Once you make it a requirement though, you'll have full NRA's wrath upon you, because its "gun control".
The problem in US is not guns per se, but the fact that gun control is extremely politically loaded concept. Mostly, because gun manufacturers own NRA, which owns half of congress. It is impossible to even raise the question without their brainwashing machine screaming that government will eat our babies.
As much as I agree that this shit needed to be exposed, he should not have done it if he was not ready to face trial. Otherwise the political value of this act drops dramatically.
You want others to help you with the problem *you* brought upon *yourself*.
I'm sorry, I don't give a flying fuck about people and their kids shooting themselves in the face, because they don't know how to handle a gun. You bought a gun, you deal with it. I'm not paying for your hobbies. Period.
My only concern if bullets flying *outside* of your private property.
There is absolutely no way any building construction project can be finished after this.
My thoughts exactly.

Especially since this keeps them dependent on their *own* energy sources, I'd say it is a pretty great idea.
Anyone else will at most see "Ununtu Various Vertibrates" or even less, "Android".
Now I really hope they'll call 15.04 that!
Jeez, I bet you have never delivered anything good.

I see this claim very often, but so far failed to find any evidence. Do you happen to have any?
I only said that they work the same in your thought experiment.

I did not say they are equivalent. I only said that they work the same in your thought experiment. I'm glad that now you can see how silly it was.
The reason further gun control has such trouble passing is that a majority of the people in our Republic don't _wan't_ it.

Which is also true for hand grenades, c4 and even nuclear warheads. There is still a reason not everyone is allowed to handle them.
So... what exactly do you propose?
More education? Sounds great! Now, how do we implement that?

The idiot on the road (thankfully) is pretty noticeable.
Those three rarely come together.
RIP, Doug, and thanks for all the clicks!

... being indicated by many sources to be the fact that Putin posed "no more disclosures" as a conditions.
Your mistake is taking whatever Putin (or any politician for that matter) publicly stated at face value.
That's not what that blog post says (emphasis mine):
It does not say anything about the possibility of disabling/enabling scripts.
I wonder if that because no one cared or because it was a solid piece of software...
So, people still need to be killed for cheating on a spouse?
In this case it *is* an aspect of a nanny state.
