I don't own a kindle, but Amazon just added PDF support in the latest kindle models via a firmware update. There's no pan-and-zoom support though so it squishes the pdf page down to fit the screen which kind of sucks.

Nevermind how the games look, there is a serious problem with input lag in converting the original 480i ti a progressive signal for a modern LCD, upscaling can also add lag (albeit not as much as i->p). This makes any games that require time-sensitive movements (in my case: DDR and shmups) difficult to play. And this is why I will likely always have a CRT around.

  21. Re:Religion and Education on Holocaust Dropped From Some UK Schools · · Score: 1

I didn't mean to blame the teachers, although re-reading what I wrote it might sound like that. The last line I mention "educators" which (to me) includes not just teachers but everyone at all levels of the educational system. It's gonna take cooperation at all levels, I certaintly don't want to place the blame on teachers when it is often times higher-ups or disruptive students causing problems. Sorry for the confusion^^

  22. Religion and Education on Holocaust Dropped From Some UK Schools · · Score: 2, Insightful

I'm not sure which is worse, having evangelical Christians in the United States trying to discredit evolution as a valid scientific theory, or denying the holocaust because it will offend certain Muslims. The purpose of public school teachers should be to teach the facts to the best of their ability, it should not be about bending and twisting historical events, or science. If a child's parents do not want their child to learn about these things then send them to a private school(and no I don't believe in government backed school vouchers, I don't want _my_ tax dollars to fund your fundamentalists). It's time for public school educators to stop shirking their responsibility of teaching and start trying to break down the ignorance and dogma that has filled some of these students heads.

  23. Most comfortable? on What is the Best Console Controller of All Time? · · Score: 3, Interesting

Hmm I would definately have to say the most comfortable is the gamecube controller, it just seems to slide into your hand and is great for everything except games that use the D-Pad really. The dreamcast controller is also pretty nice and the dpad is great for fighting games although hardcore gamers will still prefer a joystick. The original analog controller for the playstation was also damn comfortable as it has a longer handle then the dual shock which honestly feels kind of small to me. Overall I would say the gamecube though, since I never remember my hands ever getting tired from that controller (and it certaintly wasn't from lack of playing!).

If something is boring why the hell would people enjoy it? Ok I think this makes me a super JP nerd or something. But the splicing of the frog DNA as described in the movie (no idea of its basis in reality) actually was that certain frogs randomly changed sex in a single sex environment. What's happening here with parthenogenesis is asexual reproduction. A little bit different.
