Perhaps nature itself is tired of all the in-fighting and is simply dividing the region for them.
On a more serious note, what could an ocean and life-giving water mean for a harsh region like this? Perhaps some prosperity in the form of much needed farm land.
How would government financing of media be anything but state-run media? The media is already tainted with clear and evident bias. And that's on all fronts, for those who want to taunt Fox news. We expect it from commentators and that is generally where the most overt lies but most news agencies get their news from AP and Reuters feeds. And many of them frankly read like commentary. As if personal bias hasn't destroyed true journalism over the past several decades what do you think asking for a hand-out from an administration already quite intolerant of dissent is going to do?
I have to say I can't do anything else nor do I want to. When I "retire" I'd like to teach. Other than that, IT is a passion of mine. If I intend to work in a field that I truly enjoy, IT is it. I've been in the field either marginally or full time for nearly 20 years. It's often frustrating and yes one is often unappreciated but rewards of solving major issues and teaching up and coming SA's is a huge draw for me. I'm inclined to think that those who start wishing for another career simply aren't passionate about IT. To them they made a choice much like choosing between a banking job or a management position. IT was not a choice for me. It was in my blood and being able to work in the field is my equivalent to having a hit record.
This simply proves there's money to be made in green. It isn't earned money like the way real businesses operate. It's confiscatory profit from you and me. This is why the global warming debate is so damn tainted. People want to make it out like you're a freak if your skeptical about causation or about what can really be done. I'm skeptical when people are getting "loans" like this from people like you and me under the guise of going green. It's going green, alright. Isn't envy and greed said to be "green?" I know American cash is "green!"
In other news, most existing FPS games are set to be trounced by Duke Nukem Forever. With it's feature-rich environment and state of the art rendering existing games can only hope to maintain about a 20% market share!
AND Microsoft has an email trail, apparently, where they essentially said, "Eh" when the subject of infringement was brought up. Microsoft is inherently evil. Just like kicking puppies.
Again, the causation simply is not settled. There are scientists on both sides of the debate...still. The media has chosen a side as have politicians. Many scientists have as well. Sadly, as has been stated, the truth is probably not nearly as simple as we'd like it to be, whichever "side" we've chosen.
My comments have nothing to do with whether global warming is real. Rather, the causation. The fact that so many on Slashdot and forums in general want to equate the questioning of causation to the denying of global warming is what renders the so-called "debate" futile. It isn't debate at all. It's a systematic attempt to relegate one side of the debate with juvenile, political banter.
The battle isn't over. There is no scientific consensus. The "everybody knows" argument should rightly be shunned in this debate or it isn't scientific at all.
Once again we see an over simplification. Why are those who don't believe GW is caused by man referred to as not thinking it's real? They're not the same. I can accept that global temperatures are rising without being convinced that a) it's mankind's fault and b) we have to throw money at it. The debate has been politicized and therefore forever tainted. The science has been lost and those involved pushed to their respective sides so much so that the truth is getting lost. We're all citing our science celebs in some kind of battle royale of evidence. The scientific debate will hopefully go on, as it should. Let's hope the political debate is stifled until some meaningful consensus can be reached.
That said, this trial idea is stupid and a judge who would take this case would be a fool.
See now when you want something done, you'll pay for it and often EXTRA! When you had an SA onsite he was at your beckon call and did what you needed him to do. No matter what time of day or night.......okay...wait...
I think you're right. People have touted the 'Net as the OS for years. The problem is you will have a hard time wrestling power from the user. Yes, novices will use whatever the masses are using. But geeks will want the computing power local and as users become more savvy they're not likely to be as turned on by the Net as the OS.
Tienanmen Square taught us an important thing about ourseïlves. We can't nor are willing to do anything about any of this. Until China commits a sizable atrocity involving millions of people at once, the world is content to read about it with guarded "shock and horror."
Just think of how efficient health care will be! This sounds a lot like the FEMA contracts back during Katrina. Heavy equipment operators had to abandon their work because the gov't owed them for contract work they'd already done. Gotta love government!
Are we talking tail-to-nose or is that a phalic reference? OTOH, how you would know your bear's penis length is something that should probably go unsaid.
With props to Homer Simpson:
Google: The reason for and reason for not moving to cloud computing!
We need someone who can eliminate these middle men! Where's Tom Shane on this??

Been free-basing on the tray?

An interesting note that the OP is talking about what LTE WILL do compared to what WiMax is DOING! Bird in the hand, People.

I must have been a f*cking genius back then.
Well I'd rather it be illegal under Obama than under Bush! Nyah!

Wow! You're just a wealth of leftist propaganda.

Frankly, the mention of the term "carbon footprint" puts this squarely in the "hype" category.

According to PC World, Sprint was more reliable. http://www.pcworld.com/article/167391/a_day_in_the_life_of_3g.html
