Hey, the left have their idiocies. If you disagree with things like homosexuality saying such can get you in a pinch in places like Great Britain. Go a step further, say something not very PC in America and you can lose your job, career, and be blackballed for life. Free speech must be free for those we disagree with or it's not really free for any of us.
I can assure you there are stretches in the American West that have plenty of straight, flat road for hundreds of miles. Plenty of time to steep up. Unfortunately, few have the ability to inhibit deer, antelope, or other animals from intersecting your path.
MS can't include these into calculations for obvious reasons. They must proceed as if such vulnerabilities don't exist in order to market their product. What's funny is they don't want you to either. They want to hold themselves up as either "just as good as" the next guy or make excuses for their lack of security.
In the long run this is a cost that need not be spent. There are alternative OS's and it's high time governments, of all entities, started using open alternatives. It's not just costing them in terms of being beholding to corporations like MS but in real dollars as well.
In the grand scheme, you're alway running on someone else's network at some point. Back in the day I could buy circuits from several companies but no one laid new cable to my house.
Clearwire's network is showing some great speeds considering it's wireless.
Dunno if you heard but Bush isn't president anymore. We are free to criticize this president right? I mean, when is it time for him to stand on his own merits?
Why not just make it illegal for newspapers to go out of business? Seriously. We already pass stupid laws and what he is advocating is changing the law to prevent a basic part of the market to function. Shit happens. Businesses fail. Models change. This is the business equivalent of forbidding animals to migrate lest they evolve.
Google is Kleenex. You don't even really care that your wife bought Puffs. You'll still call them Kleenex and 9 out of 10 times you're going to pick them first by name. This simply isn't going to go the way of a meme. People aren't just going to jump ship in droves because it's different and not nearly as convenient. Start worrying when the numbers start talking. Getting excited about ANYTHING Microsoft does online is beyond premature. Hell, it might be IM-mature technologically speaking.
Pure speculation here but what if during that whole patent debate that Palm and Apple had regarding touch technology Apple conceded to let the Pre sync? Just a thought.
I mean I'm sure Apple told Palm, "Hey, you can't use multi-touch or anything like it." So Palm said, "Oh yeah? Browse our portfolio. We've highlighted a number of patents the iPod, Touch, and iPhone clearly violate." Apple: "Cross License?" Palm: "Sure! Oh, and we want to sync to iTunes."
"Thus, digital socialism can be viewed as a third way that renders irrelevant the old debates."
No it doesn't. Why? Because on the one hand you're talking forms of government and on the other you're talking digital collaboration. Try comparing apples to apples and your analogy rings truer. What may work for pooling resources within a piece of technology may not fair well in societies at large. The main reason being that there are very real political differences not only between groups of individuals but individuals themselves. At the risk of being as guilty as the author, you see the same things within collaborative technologies as forking is prominent. Furthermore, even within companies there is such collaboration so "collaboration" need not equal "communism."
This "passing the torch" idea is bad. Those who relate to the cast aren't going to relate to the new team and if they go forward in new GB flicks, you'll lose the generation that remembers the original. Then you have a heavy burden: make the movie SO good you WANT to know where the new team goes next. That's a tall order and the odds are against you.
The guy needs to get a lawyer involved. Or take it to the press. I was once detained on the suspicion of shoplifting based solely on surveilance. The thing is they never saw me take anything (because I didn't). I was pretty scruffy that day, though, and hadn't shaved and was in an old t-shirt. They took me in back, made me empty my pockets, and let me go. I never got an apology or anything. I sent them a letter explaining (nicely, I might add) that I tend to spend a lot in that type of shop and that they might want to consider their practices. I also explained that this incident wouldn't keep me away but I thought they should know. Their response was curt, to say the least, which DID effect my patronage of their store. They didn't stay in business long either. This guy should find a lawyer.
"The previous administration has put a lot of political capital into painting the conflict as a war against Islam (whether they admit it or not),..."
Never heard it called that. I've heard it called a war against "radical" Islam. If it were truly a war against Islam we would have invaded Iran, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Syria, Pakastan, but we didn't.
"Also known as the "Fletcher" defense."
Okay, I read that as "felcher" and thought, "Wow! This really DOES suck ass!"
Microsoft is inherently evil. Like kicking puppies.
Perhaps. With with the new F-44 Apology the need for military prowess is largely rendered moot. Provided the "Apology" is accepted.

Actually, union rules would have forbidden him from touching the plane in the U.S. even if were an American in that union.
"...imagine IF HE HAD...."
Read much, Dumbfuck?

But can it predict superfluity?
:P
The new extension allows Firefox to experience the same rich vulnerabilities that IE users have come to expect!
What a shame that only stem cells from a fetus are actually good for anything. Otherwise this could be promising.
:p
Yes, folks, that's sarcasm that will undoubtedly be confused with flamebait.

What choice do they have? It could take 4hrs to verify someone is on such a drug. It ended well so this is hardly a controversy.
Ned: "Guess who!"
Phil: "Ned? Ned Ryerson?"
Ned: "BING!"

heh You said "boners."
The suspense is killing me! WHO Investigates Claims That Swine Flu Resulted From Human Error??
