If I can watch it via an antennae (w/ Ads of course.. $$ has to come from somewhere) for free then I should be able to stream it on the internet for the same low price. (Consideration given of course for whatever whomever charges to recoup the cost of said streaming) The model of: "Select your cable subscription to stream for free" is BS. I shouldn't need a cable provider at home to have device freedom for my football.
Fix that problem and I'll stop searching for pirate streams on YouTube (and people will be less inclined to want to put them up there)
A Plex subscription (~$99 for a lifetime), HDHomerun + antenna and you can stream it to yourself (phone, tablet, whatever) for free!
By using bluetooth, you lose out on high-fidelity audio. A simple test: listen to a high-quality recording via bluetooth on your car, then try listening to the same audio through the AUX without the volume turned up too high as this can also create a different type of distortion. The muffling of the bass with bluetooth will be clear as daylight. This is why I never use bluetooth audio.
Disagree. I pair my S8+ to my car via Bluetooth and the quality difference is all but indistinguishable.
With the advent of CD quality codecs like APT-X, lossy Bluetooth is pretty much a thing of the past.
I cut the cord years ago.
I have a DB4 antenna on the roof for receiving my local areas 15 full HD OTA channels.
I have 2 HDHomeRun Dual network attached ATSC receivers plugged into the antenna, which serve OTA viewing to a dedicated PC running Windows Media Center.
I have yet to find a better 10 foot interface for DVR / guide and TV viewing than WMC, plus it's included with Win 7 for free.
I run a Plex server on the same box (the PC is hooked up to the TV, and that's it), which streams all my content stored on a NAS box.
There's a Windows Media Center plug-in for Plex Home Theater, which gives you Plex streaming without having to use a mouse or put down the remote (Harmony 880).
There's also an Amazon plug-in for WMC, and up until recently a Netflix plug-in. WMC is the best "dummy / girlfriend" proof interface I've found. It records scheduled shows through the guide perfectly, and has all the standard "cable box" type features including time shifting.
An added bonus is the OTA streams are pure, vs the compressed HD you get from your cable shills.
I've been on this setup for ~4 years, and I love it.
Do you have a shed or detached garage?
I have detached garage that I ran connectivity to using a 100mpbs full duplex ~$40 tplink power line adapter.
In the garage I have a ddwrt router for extending wifi and an old PC for garage tunes, IPTV (hdhomerun), user manuals for car wrenching; and perfect for an outside the house rsync of critical docs (single truecrypt container).
I like stories like this because they make my uid relevant again.
Oh to be 19 and picking a random uid while stoned. Too bad you can't change them on a one time basis or something.
What a waste of a ~500k UID.
It's incredibly easy to convert an old VW diesel to run on kitchen grease. The trickiest part is keeping the viscosity down so you can pump it to the engine, but there's plenty of kits out there with in tank heaters for colder regions.
PESNetwork PES Network, Inc.
Q&A just finished; reading of results; 470 kW maintained continuously during self-sustain; customer satisfied; sale made; more later.
The ordinance also mentions "significant health questions" raised about "increased electromagnetic frequently radiation (EMF) emitted by the wireless technology in SmartMeters."
Reminds of "My neighbors wifi gives me migraines..."
I remember the egg drop. We also built bridges out of popsicle sticks, and tested them to see which could hold the most weight. That was the most engineering related hands on project I think I had in all of elementary school.
They should probably leave well enough alone at this point.
I personally don't want to go see *another* Spider Man movie, reboot or sequel, for a while. By while I mean years.
They didn't cancel the Raptor program...

F-22 Raptor Cancelled
·
· Score: 3, Informative
They've already got 187 of them. All they did was cancel an order for an additional 12 that were budgetted last year.
The summary would lead you to believe they're moth-balling all of them or something.

This reminds me of a cheap 80's movie called Defcon 4.
Manned military platform loaded with nukes.
Next thing you know, a comet will pass and turn everyone to dust...
You lost me at "Phlegmatic cockalorums".
Allow me to retort - Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. Then you'll be a mile away, and have his shoes.
...but their wives/girlfriends might seize control of the remote because they want to know who is the best at that ribbon twirling thing.
Everyone knows Frank the Tank is the best when it comes to floor.
Just don't ask him to jump through a ring of fire.

Sweet - Robot Dutch rudder!

According to their twitter feed, it worked:

Why don't you just ask Siri?

Cisco WebEx seems to fit the bill, although I'm not sure if it'll run on *nix.

It is when the new products are positioned to be direct competitors of the third gen product.
...I'm not going to get Rick rolled...
There was, but Apple pulled it after complaints. It was called Shaken Baby or something similar...
Maybe if Windows was a little more impervious to malware, they wouldn't have this problem.
1.8t > natural gas.

Pffft. My car is faster then that. Seriously.

I'm waiting for Sex Panther. 60% of the time, it works all the time!
