  1. FOR IT on Death to the 3.5" Floppy? · · Score: 1

I'm all for this. PERSONALLY I don't use a floppy since my OS's cd's are bootable and I can get to a "dos" prompt if needed from there - HOWEVER I do see lots of people (mostly college kids) who come into Kinkos with there report done in word and want to print it out - and they bring in a FLOPPY - the smart ones bring in zip disks or jaz cartridges (I would include cd - but they ALWAYS need to make changes and save the file again) but for the ones who don't know anything about a computer other than that they needed to use one in order to pass there class there using floppies - and yes MOST slashdotters will no doubt say good riddance to the floppy I don't need it in my l33t h4x0r self compiled kernal linux box with my self-rolled dsl - but for the MAJORITY of people in THE REAL WORLD who don't care about the latest advances in the mapping of the human DNA structure or that macs come in prettier collors than most pc's - they still use floppies.

that way everyone gets what they want - I for one will NOT buy 2 sets of the same god dam movie just so i get MORE extra scenes - that is Re-GoD-DaM-iKuLuS (worse than my spelling) when TPTB do this it makes me just want to warez a decent copy of the movie or steal both versions NOT PAY FOR 2.

and on another note by your argument - if the majority of people = X than X is the majority and represents the MAJORITY of the nation - although I think the majority are agnostic

true atheism is very RARE - to this day i only know of one TRUE ATHEIST in all the people I talk to - so saying "god" could be associated with agnostic which IS the majority and DOES represent the nations (by popular vote MOST people DO believe in A "higher power")

and if you TRULY are an atheist then i do hope the next time you get in a traffic jam you aren't using the term "JESUS CHRIST" since that would point more towards your own issues with christianity than anything else. :)

IT IS A CHOICE to say it at school - you don't have to say the pledge or even stand if you don't want to.

    1) Linux has 27% market for servers

    2) Linux is second most popular for servers

    3) Linux has beated out Unix (so unix =26% or less)

    4) M$ holds the top spot for server OS's
