    >>>C'mon, it takes a lot of money to look good and to develop the style to know when you look good. People in tech support don't get paid enough money to look good.

"Good" looks different to many people. Ugly people need to dress nice to look good, It's all they have. I, on the other hand, look best in jeans and a t-shirt because i look good no matter what i wear. Besides, I've seen the cloths that money can buy and it's all gay. The cloths aren't the problem. The assholes who think cloths matter are the problem. These buttfucks need to learn how to judge achievement based on what is achieved. Some bosses think their customers will think differently of you if you are not "dressed for busuness". Guess what?... your customer hires assholes too! that's why they think that way.

And if sony can place hidden functions on your PC that take a year to discover, just imagine what microsoft can hide on your PC. I've heard plenty of times before that M$ has hidden directories on your HDD that store your browser history regardless of your history and cookie settings. I'm sure there is more that we don't know about.

Actually, This is cool. It strengthens our position. You see, there creates two camps.

Camp 1) Only buy proprietary solutions from large corporations. Never share for fear of criminal prosecution.

Camp 2) Only use (cc) (copyleft) and GPL. Share with friends, share often.

The Assholes in power, while attempting to strengthen thier own position, push more people into camp number 2 every day. We win.

What we really need is an internet utility or domain that is only for sharable material so that we can aviod getting caught up in the proprietary mess. For instance, a P2P with voting and meta voting (AKA eDonkey meets slashdot) so that we can fill it with free items and kick out the accidental proprietary items that enter. The sytem could be catagorized like bittorrent searches so that you could search for various styles of music , etc...
Voting could make musicians popular. Concerts make musicians money.
I'm sure variations of this exist, we just need a better and fool proof one along with more advocation/advertising.

I would much prefer KDE, GNOME, Fluxbox, IceWM or even XFCE (my least favorite) over this garbage. Have you tried to read an article while a MacromediaFlash ad is one the same page? This desktop is just like that.
      I'll stick with GNOME.
