This is an excellent idea. If I had any shred of skill in this area, I would be doing something similar myself.
One thing you might want to consider is having a button box instead of leaving them in one place. I remember a lot of games had buttons on both sides of the joystick, so people could play left- or right-handed. I use my right had for the joystick, which makes pretty much every arcade control pad I've seen worthless to me.
You also might want to check out MameWorld, if you haven't already. They have several discussion forums dedicated to Mame cabs and arcade hardware.
I look forward even more to the day when we can molecularly scan a perfect steak (or anything) once, then freely distribute the "blueprint" and manufacture cheap copies...
If you tried to do that, the MPAA (Meat Producers Association of America) would come after you for copyright infringement. After all, they own the copyrights on all the blueprints.
Version 1.0 isn't actually version 1.0 anymore. It's more like Version 1.0 Lite.
I installed it on my computer, and found that it blocked access to computers in my local network. The quick start guide (pdf) gave instructions on how to resolve the issue (Trusted Zone), along with a picture of the dialog box. I tried to follow the directions, found the dialog box to be different from the one pictured in the guide.
I consulted their help file, found that Trusted Zones are only available in the Pro version.
The fact that the guide refers to functions that are not available in the product would seem to indicate that they deliberately crippled version 1.0 before offering it free, the better to make it a shill for version 2.0 of the product.
I sent them feedback on the issue, if they take any action it will probably be to modify the guide.
I worked for a company while it was going through ISO-9000 certification. This was at the same time that Dilberts company was going through ISO-9000 certification. Every time something notable would happen at work, it would show up in the strip about 2 weeks later.
I expect that most of the sites that track this use the browsers identifier string to compile statistics.
I use Opera, and it comes preconfigured to misidentify itself as IE 6.0 - probably in response to the websites that check the string and won't let you in if you aren't using Netscape or IE.

My favorite is Heartbreak Ridge. They changed dozens of instances of "Cluster Fuck" to "Cluster Flop".
The funny part is: They missed one. At the base party the commanding general walks up to Eastwood and asks "Been to any cluster fucks lately?".
Sony came up with a method of recording audio/video signals onto a cassette tape. They called it Betamax and patented it.
They refused to licence the technology, so another company (Panasonic or JVC, I forget which) came up with an alternate method to record audio/video signals onto a cassette tape. The methods involved were similar to those used by the Betamax, but different enough that they didn't violate any patents and so VHS was born.
VHS technology was then licensed to anybody who wanted to make VCRs and was willing to pay royalties, so you had 1000 companies selling VCRs that were compatible with each other but not compatible the model that only Sony was selling. But that's another story....
That's over and above what you have to pay the RIAA for the content, and what you have to pay the RIAA (in the form of tax or levy) for the media when you burn the CD.
Hire a company to take a poll. Make sure the company targets the appropriate demographic and asks the appropriate question in the appropriate manner. If you aske the right group of people "Do you approve of the way the President is dealing with those filthy terrorists?" you can be assured of a 90% approval rating.
Just because you disagree with somebody, or think they are wrong, is no reason to start out by calling them "fucktard".
When I see a post that starts out like that, my tendency is to stop reading it.

"Enable the firewall by default"? Why not just disable the services by default?
Microsoft does not know how to include a feature that is off by default.

That's easy. You just lead it a little less.

Congratulations! You just got modded "Informative" for not getting the joke.

I can see it now: The companies that sell spam mailing software will offer upgrades that send 9,999 messages and then stop working for 24 hours.

A real world example of this would be the VCR.

I guess they want to test the saying "There's no such thing as bad publicity".
Actually, the article does not explicitly mention porn. The new domain would be for "material harmful to minors".
So my site that explains how there is no Santa Claus and that there never was an Easter Bunny would be forced to move to the new domain.
Or go here for the free version.
Semi-OT, does anyone know of a replacement file manager for Windows 98?

You are then paying $5.40 for content delivery.

Rocky also won Best Picture.
So no, the Oscars are not the best index to measure movies by.

That's why I make IE ask for permission every time it tries to access the Internet, which since I primarily use Opera isn't often.
