    There is no alternative other then DSL from AT&T, which is even less reliable and trustworthy.

    Comcast etc sell their customers phone numbers to illicit third parties. I ended up having to throw together an Asterix system with a simple "no solicitations, press one to continue" message to filter out all the robo-calls I got when I was forced to switch services over to Comcast.

    This means no public internet, it will forever now be a private enterprise. Not sure I like that possibility in the long run given how the ISP monopolies behave.

    I always cringe a bit when I see the "put web cams in your house! For security!" commercials. It's just a mater of time until Xfinity or what not get's compromised and all those web cams you use to check your kids get used by other people... to "check your kids".

    Heard this on NPR, at one point a company representative said something akin to "the only test of if the company changes are enough is if this happens again". In other words, "just wait, if we don't kill a bunch of people again everything worked out!".

    For reasons known only to them, they wanted phones, tablets, notebooks and desktops to all use the same interface. Since a start menu doesn't work well on a phone, they opted to remove it.

    No... not really. The odds of you EVER needing your gun to fight off a "bad guy" who may try to grab your gun are slim to not.

    All the things listed, are synced to the iCloud. Sounds to me like they are not accessing the phone, but the contents of the cloud server, which have push/pull access to selected apps. Wonder if this is true if you disable cloud access or simply don't sign into it.
