    This all just lends credence to my theory that the best way for Microsoft to kill Linux is for them to adopt it. Nothing would make the Linux Zealots jump ship faster. Within days we'd be hearing about how much Linux sucks and how BSD or some other OS is the "One True Operating System".

    You mean it's still only 1/15 of what copying 1 song to mp3 and redistributing it in violation of local and internatinal copywrite laws nabs you. What you wrote is like saying that firing a gun will land you on death row, leaving out the part about the bullet going into some guys head.

    Ahem, I mean none of it my good man. What pray tell is this "porn" I keep hearing about?

    In truth its all video files, some of it mine, some of it other peoples, but a lot of it's anime. Its suprising how much disk space Mpeg4 chews up.

    Lets see, I have 1TB of data I back up. At 756kb/second upload speed it will take around 220 hours to back that up to a thousand acounts. Think I'll stick with my AIT library.

    Most people will go to CompUSA, buy a computer and plug it into their broadband. I would much rather these yahoos have a firewall forced on them. If the ISPs wont do it, then I leave it up to the computer makers. Once enough monkies get these things spam levels will drop.

    Every Windows user that would click the "yes I want to execute this email attachment becuase I'm brain dead" dialog in Outlook will do the same if they had a Macintosh.

    Indeed, Cocoa kicks much ass. I like OS X a lot as both a end user and a devloper. The problem I have is with how Apple acted prior to its release.

    Too bad very few apps made for Rhapsody ran on OS X. My company and others I knew blew a LOT of cash while Apple was promising to release Rhapsody "any day now". From where I sat, Apple was clearing out their warehouses of old computers by fostering them off on developers. Knowing full well that they where door stops.

    Bottom line is that Apple used up a lot of "good faith" it had with the development community, regardless of if you agree with the reasons or not. They lost developers that they sorely needed and need.

    Don't even get me started on Yellow Box.

    This may make up for the number of long time Apple devlopers that left after buying 9600 PowerMacs when we where told they would be the devlopment platform of choice for Apples next gen OS.

    I, and many people like me, have this whole food/shelter requirement. Thats the problem I have with outsourcing. I know too many smart people who have no job and outsourcing is making the situation worse.

    Dont realy know, I never used the stuff. I for one think that using a PDA to try and make phone calls is a rather poor idea. Given that I would need to use my cell phone to get a reliable internet connection anyways, whats the point?

    John Woo is a director that realy should not be given too much money to work with. His low budget movies are great, while his cash cow flicks (MI2 etc) just hurt to watch. He needs to get back together with Chow Yun-Fat and make a good action movie again.

    Microsoft dammaged Sun with MSJava, Sun sued to stop it. Sun won and Microsoft started shipping Sun Java. Sun sued to stop that as well. Microsoft shipped no Java, this hurt Sun more then MSJava and was Suns own fault. Sun didn't know when to stop, there was a point where all was well and Microsoft was shipping the right product. Ah well.
