So long as we're demanding things we're not going to get, go for broke I say.
Phones have been hard wired to contracts for years now, the iPhone is only unique in that its popular so people actually care that only one service provider can support it. I'll bet a cookie that the terms of the service agreement let Apple & AT&T do more or less what ever they want with what is legally still their hardware.
So even if it comes out of all of this that the "bricking" was targeted, I doubt it will change anything in the end.
By a lot of measurements, CO2 levels dont mater much. Even if we dropped emissions to zero, the existing impact on Greenland and the ice caps is enough to be very worried about. Frankly, I think we should be more focused on addressing the problems introduced by the green house effect rather then be totally focused on emission levels.
Course if we had never passed the Clean Air Act we would have a buffer of particulates reducing sunlight getting to the ice. Not that I like smog...
who wants to join me in a class action law suite over those locks they keep putting on the doors and ignitions?
OK, not the best analogy. But I'm only on my first cup of caffeine. Bottom line is that any time I mod a console (going back to the Famicom aka Nintindo) I no longer expect the developer of said hardware to support me and in fact I expect them to actively oppose me.
Over the years Sony has been a better supporter of hobbyists, even going so far as to release a home brew PS1 (NET YAROZE).
Due to the low price these days I use GFI outlets whenever I can. Worse case is it saves you a trip to the breaker box if you overload the circuit. Best case it stops you from doing the 110v mambo.
Lets not forget that the UK had to release a document covering injuries from cookies (biscuits). Seems half the nation has been injured by them at some point...
To be fair, most houses have 220v as well as 110v (check behind your dryer). 220v requires MUCH more expensive wiring and the US 220v outlets & plugs are if anything more sturdy then the UK and have things like twist-to-lock safety features.
So they rated the US as the worse and the UK as the best. However they only looked at non-grounded, 110v outlets without GFI for the US and it's a UK publication. Frankly, other then the voltage (220 vs 110) and the orientation, UK and US are identical.
Cheap SSD drives fail more often then good, expensive ones. This is not shocking news. Or at least it shouldn't be. But the vast majority of consumers never look past the capacity and purchase price.
Been using my N810 for a while now. Mamo is great. Its one thing to have a stripped down office app on your pda and another to be running Abiword and Gnumeric.
My recollection was that anything hosted on a geocities page was trojan riddled junk. If a site somehow actually gained popularity, it was defaced overnight due to the poor security geocities provided.

Come on, you know someone did it...
But I still say eat which ever you personally like.

Power-books have had magnetically power connectors for a long while now. Gona have to call FUD on your post, sorry.

Ah well.
I listed the Insignia one because its the lowest end I know of with a VGA port in addition to DVI.
You're not paying extra for the connectors, you're paying less for the lower resolution. Just get a TV like the Insignia NS-L37Q-10A.
I always add // And then a miracle happens!
So the solution to the energy problems we face, is to stockpile more nukes so we can use them for fuel when they get past their "best used by" date?
Since the odds are I'm going to be spending the night there at some point, good vending machines or a cafeteria are a must.
If it ties in to the rotating cipher device PayPal offers its all the same to me. Its a DigiPass Go 3 FYI, similar to what Blizzard uses for WoW.

You have to really work at electrocuting yourself on a GFI outlet. I dont consider the covers and fuse to be a better option.

GFI outlets cost less then 10$ each for a 20amp model. If people want to save the cost of a sandwich on outlets I for one wont stop em.
But for me, its worth the extra couple bucks.
UK size is smaller or comparable to US 220v and GFI is better then a fuse in my opinion.
We all save on electrolysis?

Whole thing seems more then a little biased.

Clearly, the end is near. And death shall arrive with beepable noses!
Of all the Nations, I would never have thought it would be the Swiss who would start the robot apocalypse. I had Germany in my betting pull...

They where kinda the AOL of the web....
