Stopping the geeks with the ability to use a proxy was never the point. I cant get my grandparents to hold the mouse the right way around, no way would they be able to understand something like Ultrasurf. If it works on 90% of the people, it's working very well.
So, "any device" means anything running a supported OS with supported software and access to their cloud.
Which means any device other then something I would want to use to watch a movie while on an airplane. More or less the same problem I have with current "digital copy included!" DVDs on the market. They don't actually work with anything I want to use.
Just like adding "on the web" to every idea failed to make people rich (well.... it did from some I guess) so will adding "on the iPhone" to everything fail in much the same way.
A good application will sell. Yet another app of type X will not unless it is CLEARLY better then the rest.
This is true of every platform. The iPhone is not special.
Depends. Working on machine code for the slot & other game systems used in Vegas is a VERY highly regulated industry.
Working on an online gambling site run out of the Cayman Islands is not.
I would higher someone from the first industry to work on something as important as electronic voting systems. I wouldn't hire someone from the second to mow my lawn.

I paid for a license. I use extjs to write software that I expect to be paid for, so I have no problem paying for extjs.
Good tool kit for web apps, not web pages.

I've been doing a lot of work with extjs for building web applications (business type apps with Domino or Salesforce as the back-end source), and for that its great. From time to time I've looked at using parts of it for web pages and it fails for a couple reasons.
The big one is that you want to design things from the outside in, with containers in containers and layouts within layouts. Which is perfect for totally controlling the behavior of an entire page to make it look at feel like an application. However, if you just want to put a menu on a page, the container hierarchy becomes cumbersome.
Course, this is all just my opinion. Can't prove any of it.
I see audio books pirated at a high rate (just check mininova). However, we as a nation, are not much into reading. So no, I do not expect printed works to be in high enough demand to trigger the same kind of massive piracy that audio does.
Indeed, the new model has a phone app shoe-horned in. Only time will tell if it is any good as a phone. However I was speaking of the existing platform, which is phoneless.
I assume you speak of the successor to my n810? I do enjoy having a full Linux system on my PDA, runs the apps I want etc. HOWEVER! Its is NOT a phone. Which the iPhone is. It does couple well with other Nokia products, including cell phones, but outside of VOIP you'll not be making any calls from it.
I keep several spreadsheets of network and rack configuration information on my Nokia phone. Helps when I'm off site and need to lookup specs on a server. That way I can also make updates on the spot when I have to change an IP etc.
Clearly you didn't look into the situation. The adds are showing up even when off line. They are not being loaded over the net but are built into the patch.

Which totally ignores that elsewhere you get higher quality for lower cost...
Real security slows things down too much, so companies get by with "good enough" and then get litigious if things go wrong.

Dont want data to be found online? Dont put it out there for people to find.
Total non-issue.
"terminated" can mean so many more interesting things.

Till Apple adds a 5$ radio receiver I'll not be buying one. Not everything can be downloaded from itunes.

Um... ok, but my Nokia already has office apps from several different vendors.
Has for years in fact, even reads & writes the Microsoft Office (tm)(r)(c) documents.
Not sure what gap this is supposed to fill.
Its just a photo of a dog in a baseball cap and sunglasses, if you totally think he looks like he could drive a truck, you failed the test.
Would you rather have police interpreting the laws as they see fit and only enforcing the ones they agree with?

Then explain why banks are required BY LAW, to replace perfectly good drive up ATMs with brail versions?
How are you going to get users to take the How Dutch Am I test before accessing the web page?
Do you want to tell him about XP 64, or shall I?
... sometimes you actually discover something and have to write a paper about it.
Based on what I've seen, this seems to be the primary use of the game. Not sure why exporting this to other programs is a good thing...
I got my opinion from driving one of the cars. Sorry, guess I didn't subscribe to your news letter to learn that what I was experiencing was wrong.
