Surely you're joking. Can you imagine the cost in employing someone to check the entire source code of, say, Linux, OpenOffice, X, KDE, Mozilla before they, as a company, use it?
Oh and also dis-assembling and checking the code of the compiler, because of course that could have back doors in it.
May seem logical to you, bud, but I can't see it happening.
So you can't program (i.e. check the source yourself for backdoors), but you still trust open source more than closed source. How do you work that one out?
Ummm, surely the "editors" have a coherant voice. They choose what everyone else discusses, and the original poster was spot on. One minute it's blah, blah, evil, proprietry and the next it's wow, DVD's, PS2 and so on.

The original poster is right and you're wrong. I really hope that you're not serious comparing film directors and politicians. Lucas hasn't shat on anyones head. Anything he's done recently hasn't diminished what he's done before, it's called freedom, he can make whatever sort of film he wants and he doesn't owe you squat. If you don't like his new films don't watch them, pretend they don't exist. If you think you can make a better film then please do so.
Idiot.
...you obviously have no idea what you're on about.
Really?
Been to cuba lately?
Ever heard of a thing called Waco?
Very witty and also completely comparing apples to oranges.
What are you on about? I run a multi-national organisation on a mixture of OpenBeOs, GNU Hurd and a couple of Vic 20's.

So how much have you given to feed the poor today?
Oh no, not banned from moderation for life!!!
He must be REALLY scared of that one.
I work 9 till 5:30, get an hour for lunch, always work a 37.5 hour week, and spend my time coding in perl and also maintaining legacy fortran systems.
Your job sounds like hell, perhaps you should move to England?
Just out of interest, how old are you that you can rememeber when railroads had different sized tracks?
Well thank god you're here to show the un-enlightened sheep the way.
Oooo, look at me, I'm so cool, I know the best(tm) sort of music to listen to, and obviously my tastes are the best.
Barbarella wasn't meant to be funny???
Surely there must have been some element of tounge in cheekness about the whole thing.
I fully agree with you. Even with the alphacide, I think that there's life in the old dog yet.
It's being ported by compaq/intel to the ia64...
here.... and there's a free software clone being developed here
Because we've never had terrorist attacks in England have we? IRA ring any bells? Mostly funded by Americans as well.
So enlighten us on the last time you were attracted to a chimp?
Was your love requited?
...but what about being the idiot that can't?

No, I do get the reference, Bill Gate's letter to hobbyists. Still doesn't make it funny.
You're alright. It's not funny.
How you going to know whether it's public domain if you don't read it first?
John A, closet homo.
Come on though, I can't believe there is anyone called Kellog's Allbran. A real regular guy.
How boring you are then.
