  1. Shut up and cash the check.... its politics on Ask Slashdot: How To Gently Keep Management From Wrecking a Project? · · Score: 1

Looks like you are suffering under the decease named politics. When things start looking good in a project, management types will jockey for position to take credit or to submarine the effort. You can either play the game (move into management) or.... make sure you are working on pieces of the project that interest you. You can of course try tilting at windmills... Let me know how that works for you. A bitter old man

women can usually win any pissing contest.... http://www.femaleurinal.com/factsandfables.html from TFA... It is not a well-known fact, but women can urinate further than men, and accurately. Female children can be trained to sit or to stand to urinate and we know that children are quick learners.

What does "developing countries" mean anyway...

Does anyone really think that a $100 laptop is going to improve the quality of life
for the vast majority in a "developing country"?

Quality difference between a tape copy from the airwaves and a mp3 copy from a satellite radio are irrelevant...
What you meant to say is that it is quite alright to copy the music, you just have to listen to it on a crappy player or with crappy speakers/headphones.
Perhaps you meant to say that only hearing impaired people can legally listen to the mp3 copies...

  9. Re:What Are They Talking About? on The Law of Unintended Consequences: Patents · · Score: 1
However, lets get to the reality of patents. First there is no NEED whatsoever to spend 5 billion to develop a test a drug! 5 billion is 5 billion! The argument that you need so much money to bring out a drug is bogus! The biotech industry can do with less, but because it is so easy to pump the clientel it is done!

Really bad argument... 5 billion (or whatever) is money... You believe that a hard core capitalist corporation will burn money just because it is sooooo easy to get more...

You expect others to believe it too...

If I am interested in decrypting stuff, why would I wait for a 'proof' that this theory is worthwhile, wouldn't I just go ahead and accept and start decrypting...

If I can see the secret code, who cares whether the theorem is proved or not... and why wouldn't somebody be already using it
