The days of Bulk mailing via the Cc: and Bcc: are coming to an end. Private mailing lists work so much better. I also appreciate mailings lists because I always get a copy, and people don't accidently get dropped off. Yahoo lets you set up free and simple mailing lists that truly are opt-in. I've set them up for classes, and deleted them at the end of the semester. I also use them for homebrew clubs, and projects.

I almost fell off my chair when I read that. I had an experience at Radio Shaak a few years back with a store employee that wouldn't leave me alone.

Finally I told him he could help, I really needed a 4 Ohm Flux Capacitor. The searched the store until I was ready. I looked him in the eye and said, Back to the Future Dude". He quit searching, looked very embarased, and rang up my purchase.

At a computer repair place I was working at a few years back, I recall one of the techs there explaining to a customer that the reason his power supply had stopped working was that the "flux capacitor" had blown. Mind you this tech wasn't an idiot (or an ID ten T), he just wanted to get rid of the customer :)

Just a couple of the things she loves about her Zire 71

The bulbs vary in price, and are basically proportional as to how bright (I think the term is lumens?) the bulb is. The really expensive systems, that still show a good picture when the lights are on are more expensive and so are the bulbs.

The projectors I've used had bulbs that varied between $500 and $1,000 When I check a local high-end hi-def projector store in Phoenix last year, the top system's bulbs were about $3,000 to replace (Though a better deal could be found on the Internet).

Arm yourself with as much knowledge as you can before you go out and blow those big dollars!

They'd definitely need a very tight set of security policies that's been combed over by at least a few sleazy lawyers.

MAC address filtering would bring out at least one privacy advocate complaining about rights, and absolute Nazi like controls won't fly at a public institution.

Everybody seems to be advocating the staff doing stuff, do they have the resources to handle every little issue a student comes up with?

VLANs with heavily controlled QoS would help. I also like a script forcing certain patches.

Could the school get a license from an AntiViri company to cover all students, force everybody to run it as policy, script the updates, IDS to ban infractions by switch port or something with would f%$k the student because it might take a week to get around to turning the port back on.
