Ive had it installed on my shared hosting server, I activated it and its been great. Although I dont receive a lot of spam (thankfully) it still catches all of the odd ones that come through.

Well worth using if you arent already :)

Id suggest that you give Trillian a try, as this can connect to ICQ, AIM, Yahoo & MSN in one. (for windoze atm, they are gonna port to *nix once they release the final). I like it, mainly caus I have contacts on most msging protocols & it allows me to stay in touch.

Im not sure, but would have thought that this would remove the dangers of using ICQ / AIM.

  9. IMHO on Royal Institute Christmas Lectures · · Score: 1

It seemed a bit bland this year, I saw some of Adam-hart Davis' program on BBC2 by accident, which seemed more interesting even though it lacked depth, before switching over to C4. Maybe some of the other lectures will be more entertaining.

Not quite my version of things, I was an avid user of Trackballs for about 2 / 3 years for FPSers mainly due to the precision, but this year my thumb all but died & I unfortunately purchased a M$ optical trackball (its terrible, keeps clogging up & sticking even after being cleaned).

I used to be real happy with my logitec trackball, what model do you use or recommend? (anyone) Id be happy to go back to one as long as its reliable under heavy usage.

  11. Great Christmas :) on Merry Christmas · · Score: 1

Merry christmas to everyone... Ive had some nifty presents (part from the usual clothes & chocolates) - a Sony 19" HMD silver flatscreen monitor & half a gig of ram. 1280x1024 has never looked so good for me
    :D

Hope that you all have had a good christmas day (even if you havent woken up yet!)

"Dont forget that accounting rules are different in different countries."

I stumbed across this article, thought yeah these linux based solutions are great! (im a part time accountant in a small accounting practise and my boss wants to move to computer based software that will cost in the region of £2,000 - £4,000 per year)

Then I started to check it out, it just wouldnt work for the UK. The legal systems are so different, I doubt that there is a UK based linux suite out there :(

Well why doesnt someone setup a page that uses this exploit... hmmm... :
    Difficult bits:
    - gain access to msn.com

    Easy bit:
    - Code a virus (some may say saviour?) that:
    uninstalls IE
    installs Mozilla
    sets slashdot as homepage.

Hmm now im sure M$ would fix the bug quick enough if that was done!
