    GL Doom helped create the 3D Graphics market

    iD is about 1-3 years ahead of ANYONE else. All the other game houses follow their lead

    3Dfx had the market in their hands with GLIDE...

    Even though it was a few years 'late', it was cheaper, just as, if not more, versatile, and open.

    Remember, Woz offered the Apple design to HP. They told him he could do whatever he wanted with his 'little project'.

    But, I recall hearing from engineers in the late 70's that if you look at the schematic of the original Apple what you see is the schematic of the HP 2640A Communications Terminal (which sported an Intel 8008 chip). And, yes, had RAM and a display as well as communications. Now, who was that fellow, anyway?

    What needs to happen is to get a large business software company (read: Microsoft) to integrate IM into their next Office suite

    Ever heard of Exchange 2000? It's got IM in there along with Mail, etc

    They've integrated IM into Windows XP....for better or for worse.

    Have it give ONLY port 80 traffic. Put the box between the internet connection and the public switch/hub

    OR, just get a little firewall/internet appliance.

    If you do it the linux way, you can get your company to buy the latest boxed 'pro' linux distro for you, along with a book
