  1. Re:One of the better ideas to fix health care... on Discuss the US Presidential Election & Health Care · · Score: 1

The main problem is that the free market is constrained. Only Doctors can license new Doctors (via internships). Only Medical Schools can license new Medical Schools (via the AAMC). It is in both their interests to limit new entrants, and so they do, driving up the cost of care with a government enforced monopoly.

If possessing a firearm in a private residence was legal this would be much harder as you would have to catch them in process of committing a crime. Even if you could you may not have enough evidence to convict them all if some were just keeping a look out for potential victims.

It'd be even easier if we just could just have the police arrest them if they were simply under suspicion.

If rocks and sticks are just as lethal and effective as guns and knives, as you claim, then why do you Americans insist you have to have the right to carry handguns, assault rifles, etc, etc?

There is a significant difference between "Right to Own" and "Right to Carry". I'm not sure where you are getting your misinformation, but I, like many Americans, support right to own, while I don't particularly support right to carry. Not all states allow carry and a few places don't even allow ownership.

Kudos to Oblivion for having the foresight to realize the story was more important than hacking and slashing your way to higher levels and getting a cramp trying to kill a Liche or something similar.

I have to agree with the grandparent. I enjoyed Oblivion as well, but what happened was that every fight ended with the same intensity level. A good progression is possible (see the old Ultima games) without the Japanese RPG three-hundred-random-encounters to level up. There is a mix and Oblivion went way too far in the other direction. I was never "scared". Looking forward to Fallout, and I just hope it isn't more of the same...
