If you have an orignal tivo then I don't think you will have this problem. They say it was introduced with version 7.2 but the series 1 tivos are stuck on 3.0
All I can say is that you are wrong. The channels available for tv when after the analog shut off will be 2-51. If they changed them all then they would instantly obsolete every digital receiver sold to date.
52-69 are the frequencies to be auctioned and are mostly if not entirely in the 700Mhz band
You may not be aware but digital broadcasts use the same channel assignments as used for analog. In my area my local pbs broadcasts analog on channel 8 and digital on channel 29. They have a choice of what channel they want to keep but both can be used for digital.
Most radios that pick up tv audio pick up VHF channels 2-13. The channels that will be auctioned are 52-69. So even though the channels can still be used for TV they will be digital and probably sound like noise on a radio.
I could have swore apple sued the kaleidoscope guy when he made a theme changer for 10.0 or 10.1 saying he was using undocumented API or something but I haven't been able to find any old articles about it.
How about the ugly Aqua theme? You can't uninstall that and apple went as far as suing a guy who came up with a theme changer.
I used to be a big mac fan but I got tired of Apple's crap
The point is if you are the average person wanting to play a quicktime movie full screen you have to pay for the pro version even if you will never use any of the pro features.
Thats not what I saw on a PBS show I watched recently (I forget what show it was). They showed a woman who was looking to purchase a car and on the lot they had cars that looked just like ours, in the background they had a Hummer H2. They said that even though the cars look the same the engine is a cheaper model with few pollution controls and poor mileage and can't pass US emission requirements.
They also showed a bunch of guys learning how to drive a Jeep up steep hills, and talked about how 4WD is becoming popular in China
One other thing they mentioned was that 10 years ago almost everyone in Beijing rode bicycle and now its the opposite, most drive cars.
Its possible China changed the mileage requirements since the show aired
The water quality report I get with my bill sometimes said that 98% of Phoenix City water comes surface water that mostly started as snow pack. Some areas have small water companies that use well water.
The Federal holiday started in 1986, Arizona voters approved the holiday in 1992 and was first observed in 1993. As far as I can tell is hold up was over the elimination of Columbus Day as a paid holiday.
I'm not convinced that it will save energy when Phoenix air conditioning costs are factored in. In the summer my electric bill hovers around $300 because of air conditioning. I think they would save more energy by promoting compact fluorescent bulbs. Also I'm glad when the sun goes down at 8:30 and it starts to cool down to the 90 degree low.
Actually Nevada and California get priority on Colorado river water before Arizona does.
I don't know about Colorado but Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes and water everywhere has all kinds of water use restrictions.
As far as your snotty comment, Arizona has almost a million more people than Colorado and Phoenix is the 5th largest city in the US. Maybe your local government needs to do a better job at water management.
No. Channels 52-69 will be sold off the same way 70-83 was sold for cell phones. 2-6 will still be available for use but the few places that have a digital station in that band say the reception sucks.
None of the premium channels have ads unless you consider a show promo comercial ads. I skip basic cable and just sub to HBO and Showtime.
The companies that own the networks own the cable networks. For example Viacom owns CBS,MTV,VH1,Showtime and a couple others. They have no interest in competing with themselves. Look at UPN, its owned by Viacom and will probably never have a hit show since it would compete with CBS
The other countries benefit so why should the US pay all of it? People are talking about being able to buy the exact same drug from another country not untested ones.
The other thing that happened is congress made it illegal for medicare to negotiate prices with the drug companies. Its all part of the Prescription Drug card scam that the "fiscal" conservatives forced through.
I would have digital tuners on all of my TVs if they didn't cost so much. Not to mention its nearly impossible to find a new tv with a built in atsc tuner.
Also how would they count me? I have Dish Network for HBO and Showtime only. I use an antenna to get my locals. A lot of people that have Satellite use an antenna to get locals either to save money or because they got satellite before Local into Local started or satellite doesn't provide locals where they live. Right now both satellite providers require an antenna to get local HD
Incoming calls to landlines are always free, one local company offers an unlimited use cell phone, several others have free incoming calls.
I think the US has the same caller pays system but the customers are insulated from it. I have been looking at a bunch of VOIP providers and almost all provide free incoming calls even if outgoing is only 100 minutes.
Radioshack has a close-out tuner on sale for $89, a lot of stores are out so call around before you drive.

Mr. Fusion only powered the flux capacitor. Didn't you see part 3?

But you could digitize either and then every copy would be second generation quality

If your pipes run through the attic you don't need a solar water heater, the water is warm enough for a shower even on the coldest setting.
It would probably save me lots of money since my water heater is electric

never mind, I get it now
what about them?

I haven't met a single person in AZ that wants DST

I have that box, it sucks at croping pictures to fit on a 4:3 tv. It stretches it too much.

14-51 will be kept and are UHF.

I heard the ratio changes as the weeks go by
