I'm just happy that it's a game my two-year-old can play without any 'actual' violence ( although you can run over the characters, they go flying and aren't hurt ).
Anyone else see LCDs like this, or are my eyes just plaine fucked?
No, you're right. This is even more true when dealing with plasma TVs.. Flat panel TVs look like shit. You're not paying for picture quality, you're paying for a thin TV/monitor.

I do not think they are losing money supplying a low end computer for over $500.
I see, and it costs AOL nothing to provide internet service for a year?
The only two game sites I visit are slashdot, and gametrailers.com
I don't need some jackass telling me how easy a game is for him.. i'd rather get gaming news, and watch game trailers.. and no stupid flash ads that cover up content.
Also, same thing for Tony Hawk: Underground. Does anyone know if anything has changed other than the small bits mentioned in the blurb?
http://www.gametrailers.com is your new best friend. Just watching the trailer for Tony Hawk Underground shows how much has changed (the fact that the skater can pick up the board and run, as well as climb walls and houses)
That computers would bring about the "paperless office".
They have for me.. I don't even have a printer here at work.. Sure I still get tons of paper from all the other dorks who like to print out their email etc, but I don't participate.
add the following code to your user.js file:// Instead of annoying error dialog messages, display pages: user_pref("browser.xul.error_pages.enabled ", true);
First of all, this rules. Thanks. Secondly, it works just great in mozilla.
Sure it does, use the "Lock Tab" feature. Turn it on, and then bookmark hotmail, from now on all links in hotmail will open in a new tab... including javascript ones.
I think the target audience is "people with so much money and so little common sense that they're willing to blow nearly $1000 on a device that isn't any better than a $170 device (PS2) coupled with a $200 device (TiVo) sold by the same company".
I used to be somewhat aggravated about the perceived flood of jobs leaving our country.
I still am. And you are probably right about it finally reaching an equillibrium.
However, I'm thinking that it will happen sooner rather than later. The reason being trustworthiness and security.
I work for a newspaper. We wouldn't dream of outsourcing our programming to another country. The integrity of our content is too important.
Most Americans don't trust our own government, why should we trust the Indian government? We wouldn't want the Indian government having any control over our content or our software (since the software can manipulate the content).
The Indian government may claim to be a democracy, but many people disagree.
people downplay the importance of exploits like these because the attacker has to be on your local network to take advantage of the security hole
I sure don't trust other departments in this building either. I don't trust the sales people. They're all jerkoffs. Does anyone here really trust every one of their co-workers? What about that guy Bob down the hall who just got fired?
really, from apples docs, you have to have a malicious dhcp server on your subnet. of course, someone could bring a rogue box into work, but this isn't on par with ms exploits.
That's what's so deceitful about apple's docs. They act as if a dhcp server is some special hardware. Any machine on the network can act as a dhcp server. Who's to say that another box isn't compromised, turned into a dhcp server, and used to gain access to the entire network?
You explain to said geek suspect that you have spotted a VW Beetle (new or old, doesn't matter) whose license plate reads "FEATURE".
One of my coworkers wives has a 2000 VW Bug with the license plate "Y2K Bug"
you know that puns are the lowest form of humor, and the most popular form of geek humor... this is not a coincidence.
This post was marked as redundant, but I'd glad the joke got posted again. Reading it a second time, I finally get it.
You know, all posts can be considered redundant if you read them twice.
I'm just happy that it's a game my two-year-old can play without any 'actual' violence ( although you can run over the characters, they go flying and aren't hurt ).
Just like in real life!

I noticed that Dino Crisis 3 and Enter the Matrix were on the XBox list.
Well, their credability went down the toilet for me
Come on, they had to find *25* good titles for the xbox.. be happy they didn't just list Halo 25 times.

Urban Legend. No one named Kristian Wilson has ever worked for Nintendo.

It turns out that the number "100" contains three digits.
It's only 2 digits if you write it as "64"
wait a minute, isn't that true? 56k is only possible due to compression, it still actually runs at 9600 baud.
Unless you're talking about DSL, which isn't quite the same thing.
I believe OS/2 is destined to be the most important operating system, and possibly program, of all time.
Actually, I think Bill really meant to say was "I believe OS/2 is destined to be the most important lesson of all time."
The lesson being, of course, don't fuck with Bill Gates.
I'm too lazy to read the article.. could someone write some software to paraphrase it for me?
I wouldn't exactly call 100 grand a bounty...if you live in NYC, its the minimum you'd need to pay rent & support a wife and two kids.
And yet millions in NYC do just fine on a percentage of that.
Perhaps you just can't economize.

I was drunk for 37 hours.. and it wasn't even for a charity or nothing.

aparently Sony's PSX has just been renamed to "Fuck You Customer".

Where I work, our servers use it to send alerts to those that manage them. Works well since, unlike e-mail, it will get immediate attention.
We have robots that send out messages using AIM.. much more effective since it can target people's phones as well.
Our solution is better than yours, and it doesn't require opening ports on end users' PCs.
