    Try posting constructive posts and you will get moderated up BY THE USERS. Post crap and you get moderated down, out of everybody's sight like you should be. What's wrong with this?

    And if a USER (Slashdot's source of income) moderates up a posting that the Slashdot Editors disagree with, the $rtbl flag on their user account is set, which BANS them from participating in any further moderation.

    If you don't walk the party line, you are barred from participating in the act of raising or lowering the tone of any subsequent discussions.

    This is NOT the attitude of the Bazaar, this is the Cathedral. And we're all back where we started.

    Well, there were plenty of companies wanting to bring out a Linux based machine that was just what you described. But there's something about only ever being able to play Tux Racer that REALLY upset the target audience.
