Car companies and safety experts have known for decades that 5 point harnesses are best, they were never implemented because it was hard enough to get people to click one buckle. Convincing people to take the time to click 2 buckles every time, that wasn't going to happen.
The true genesis of this old defamatory joke was from the 1960's era or before. It was when Polish people were maligned by ignorant people as being 'stupid'. Today we know more how truly honorable and brave Polish people were during the WWII era, and what hardships they endured then. The joke was this: "Did you hear about the plane that crashed into the Polish cemetery? It was bad. So far they've recovered over 5,000 bodies." A plane can only carry at most about 300 passengers.
I've heard that true steering wheel-less auto cars are at least a good 10+ years away, perhaps 20 even. Uber et al are all hoping for sooner. What is a realistic time frame?
I submitted this story, editor BeauHD condensed it very well and used a better link than in my ArsTechnica link, since he must've seen the complaints about Ars links instead of actual more technically sophisticated sites.
reddit is a complete waste of your time, never go there.
A larger userbase than/.'s today, sift through the cruft comments and like/., you will find insightful, informative comments and helpful conversations. It'd be sad to see the day when they are both no longer around, since free and open verbal intercourse is so very important in todays online society.
"Real" 5G is here. Cell companies are putting up real 5G towers. There are no 5G phones released quite yet, but you can buy a 5G mobile hotspot right now. Qualcomm has already released 5G hardware and phones are coming out that will support it very soon. (Unless you use Apple, thanks to their feud with Qualcomm.)
Thanks, I should have said that real 5G is 2/3 years away from being fully rolled out/implemented.
Cortana is currently available in English, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese language editions, depending on the software platform and region in which it is used.

If MS had included the old original XBox games as an inducement they'd have had a damn good shot at competing with Apple/Android phones. Missed opportunity.
It actually was a good phone OS, a bit cludgy, too late to the game and did not gain traction with app developers. Doomed from the start, though if all you needed was a reliable cellphone, it just worked.
From all I've learned from watching U.S. court tv shows, a minor under age 18 can not legally enter into a contract. I.E., when a 17 year old buys a car that deal is not legally enforceable. So what's the difference when children and websites are concerned?
LTE & this app is what I've been using for a year without issues. As to exactly where this app re-directs to, I don't know, nor care. My browsing habits may be appearing on the screen of the President of China, as long as Facebook and other uninstallable apps are blocked, I'm ok with it. Side benefit is any non-online game can be used without constant ad bombardment.:)
I've had to resort to using "NoRoot Firewall" (by Grey Shirts) to block apps access on my non-rooted phone to keep Facebook & other apps from phoning home.
I use NoRoot Firewall by Grey
Shirts in order to prevent certain pre-installed apps from having any access to the internet. I have no idea where this app redirects to, nor do I care, could be the Chinese leaders desk for all I care. It just works.
My MotoE4 came preloaded with FB App Installer, FB App Manager, Messenger, Snapchat, Amazon, Amazon Prime, Amazon Music & NativeDropboxAgent. All get disabled/Force Stopped, then after a reboot or a few months go by and they all become magically enabled again

Hey, here's another place we
could put some low cost housing,
cemeteries.
There's another idea
whose time has passed.
Saving all the dead people
in one part of town?
What the hell kind of a
superstitious, religious,
medieval bullshit
idea is that?
Plow these motherfuckers up.
Plow them into the streams
and rivers of America.
We need that
phosphorous for farming.
If we're going to recycle,
let's get serious.

I'm a vegetarian. Not because I love animals. I just really, really hate plants! ;)
Came here for this. Just think of the "moichendizing"!

Wouldn't wearing a tin foil hat just increase the reception of the government's mind probing rays? ;)

"Real" 5G is 2/3 years away still, as far as I've learned.
Be like Bill Gates, his miles long driveway is a heated, ice/snow free one.

Next time you get that notification, do a 'long press' on it. A submenu should come up that'll let you block notifications from that app.

People who sit at a keyboard all day learn the internet has backdoors. No sympathy from others who work hard for a living.
