School doesn't feed me anything about anarchy. I suggest people understand the meaning of the word anarchy before they decide to march around in support of it while being puzzled and incensed as to why people don't feel for them.

    (1) Absence of any form of political authority.
    (2) Political disorder and confusion.
    (3) Absence of any cohesive principle, such as a common standard or purpose.

[New Latin anarchia, from Greek anarkhi, from anarkhos, without a ruler : an-, without; see a-1 + arkhos, ruler; see -arch.]

Because a circuit board is yea-long by yea-wide and consumes X amount of power. While you are at it, build your own power supply. Now shove it underneath the dashboard of your car beside the ECU and you have custom vehicle-tracking for when it gets stolen. Or any other nifty thing that you dont really need a laptop for.

Yes, but a parent was talking about REPLICATING the photons. If the sender is capable of sending the photon with a specific characteristic, and the eavesdropper can read it, who says the eavesdropper can't block the orignal photon completely and send a new one with exactly the same characteristics as the one read? If you assume the eavesdropper can't configure photons, then you must also assume the sender doesnt have this capability either. After all, if it impossible, it is impossible for ALL PARTIES. You can't contain abilities to the "good party". More often than not, the "bad party" is ahead of the good.

If you can't sample protons without changing their state, how do you know the original state? If the answer is that you know what the state was before it was altered, then obviously you know the original state and can replicate it. The idea just doesn't seem to make sense in that the whole theory rests on the fact that no one knows what the state is. If the eavesdropper can't read the state there is no way that the recipient can either.

I'm a strong believer in the practical aspect of community college. I had the high school marks for EE in university, but in college we have built power-saving multiplexing LCD displays, memory banks using small scale integrated flip-flops, power supplies etc etc. Very cool stuff. All in 8 months. I went from knowing nothing about electronics to building PCB function generators from my own design that worked FIRST TRY! Not gloating of my own skills...they taught us much about good technique.
