heheh... thats the silliest thing I've ever read. "Biased against movies"? I even said the matrix was "good" but not "great". I liked it, thought it was entertaining... but its definatley not "deep" like you said.
The Matrix is the answer to the question, "What plot device can we use to make the most awesome action sequences ever?"
The problem with emusic is their mp3 quality is *SHIT*. The 128kbps rate is bad enough, but, I encounter songs *all the time* that have errors (jitter mostly) in them.
billing from some contractors takes weeks, or even months.
No lie, I recently recieved a bill for a consultation with an allergist (500$ for a 15 minute consulation!). I can't remember the exact date I went to the doctor, but I do remember I was a freshman in college, and the year had alot of 9's in it. There are no 9's in the date now, and I've been out of college (and unemployed) for a year:)
You wish. I agree capitalism is the best system so far -- but the real idea is to trick people into thinking they have free will, thus making them happy to support the wealthy with THEIR labor who for all intents and purposes are the ruling class.
A century ago, mathematics was primarily a new field
I beg do differ:) Although math has exploded during the last century, important Mathematicians are known from as early as 1700BC.
Math is a pre-requisite to technology, and it has the advantage of being the only science that needs *no* apparatus to study. This is why there are *significant achievements* in math were possible even during periods of human history which are pretty desolate otherwise.
All I want is to remove the top cover of the drive and replace it with plexiglass
When I was a kid I had a CD player I took apart, and inside it said, "If you can read this you are being exposed to low level radiation". Probably responsible for some of my low test scores:)
Not only that, having a special fund for discounts is *very* common. When I was a sysadmin at a major university, if I wanted 50% off sun equiptment all I had to do was use the word "Dell" in a sentence. Curiously the products were still overpriced.
Sun was/is so bent on destroying linux, when I discussed our setup with their sales engineers they were *throwing in* Cobalt Raq web servers to replace our linux web servers because they didnt want us running linux. They didnt see the irony:) (cobalt raq's run linux)
$1 million in bandwidth

Anyone notice the buffalo spammer article said the spammer used a cool million in bandwidth sending 825 million emails? Theres no way thats possible.
If you generously figured 1$ per gig (in reality prices are a fraction of that), they're saying each e-mail was 1.21megs. If you go by more realistic prices, (25c/gig), you come up with 4.8 megs per message.
If you want to work the numbers the other way, earthlink is saying it costs them 1.21 cents in *bandwidth alone* to send an e-mail.
I'm calling bullshit on earthlinks "cost" of spamming. In reality I'll bet he didnt "steal" enough bandwidth for grand theft. (At my web host, 500$ would buy me 1.3TB of transfer).
Wether or not spamming is legal -- THEIR network allowed him to do it. They didnt notice a million dollars worth of bandwidth being pissed away ? Earthlink Buffalo didn't notice they were a million dollars less profitable this month/year and go WTF? Of course they didn't, they're lying through their teeth.
I dont know about this -- I had the Hauppage WinTV card and it was *HORRIBLE*. The sound distorted, the software locked up and the signal was noisy. I'll never buy a Hauppage product again.

Repeat after me, "The Matrix is a plot device, There is no deep philisophical meaning."
To me this is not acceptable.

Great post by the way
I've wanted to ask you this for along time, what the hell is the point of your website? Comedy? Social Commentary? Insane rant ?
It's at least as real as the fish at Mc Donalds.
For those who dont know A Proud American is an anti-american troll, he is featured on slashdot and k5. Anything he says is guaranted to be dead wrong.
Been done already my friend.
That our government wants to do *completley* evil things that make dystopian futures depicted in movies like Brazil and 1984 look pleasant ?
The sad thing was, this was pretty much the height of arab contributions to civilization.

Its more likely to be "we have the same fetish! are you a girl (or willing to pretend you're one?)"

That was a Humor Joke, which the moderators seem to have missed as well.
It's good to see the small guy win one.
Also, ive basically had *no luck* getting this company to honor warranties or anything, so you're prolly on your own.
Apparently underage access to porn is a Very Serious Problem.
You wish! thats 1 - 3c per kilobit :D
3 - 5 ms latency is considered to be ideal for music applications.
Honestly, if you're that worried about popups go download a copy of Proxomitron. Proxomitron does a very good job, and its free.

Thats because the song was released on a copy-protected CD.
