    No cache sharing. Since the RAM is shared its that much more important for the CPU to have its own cache. this is why CPUs designed for multi-processing environment always have MORE cache than their single environment targeted counterparts.

    Standard dual cores is not something to be excited about, its something to look down on. It means they have run out of CPU innovations and have fallen back on brute force.

    Actually that was not possible. Many companies give matching contributions for 401K. But their match is in company stock that you can not remove.

    If im not mistaken Blue cross Blue shield is state run health insurance in Michigan. I long for the day when I had that insurance. They are doing their best to shut it down.

    Why doesent my company support such a policy that would surely save them money?

    Its not every man/business for himself. Rich people support each other with extreme predjudice.

    This does not seem likely. Ebay cost people money. Each time someone has reached a max and set a new one, that is money ebay cost someone.

    How can you view this as so small a thing? Because ebay didn't pocket the money? Won't matter. They made their service look better by getting sellers an artifically higher price. I think they are in big trouble.

    Not to mention the fact that this is probably criminal on a federal level as well.

    And insurance is in the business of making money. If it cost them money, they will make sure it costs ebay money.

    I had a similar experience. I wrote ebay asking why my bid went up when i raised my maximum. They gave me some explanation I don't remember. I must have accepted it because I don't recall holding a grudge.

    Yes. How can you view this as anything but backing away? If its not included or supported by default, then its backing away. Its not running away, nor shutting it down. But backing away is a fair assesment, IMHO.

    But That is awefully surprising from such a 'spiritual' administration. I would think they would value what is in someones heart over what is in his head. If he means bad, he will figure out a way to do bad. It does not matter what job you put him in...

    ...I barely watch any TV anymore since the internet. And when I do I would prefer it to be TIVOed, sans commercials. But can you take out the product placements?

    I'm just becomming too used to getting my content without the advertising rape job they do on TV. Especially the offensive (when my son is watching) "erectile disfunction" (wink) commercials. And after all, everyone says if you don't like it simply don't watch.

    This happens to me a lot. My wife and I will be somewhere and there will be a document put forth. Then when it gets to me ill sit back and start reading it. They always make some joke about me being dilligent, while I am ignoring them trying to figure the document out.

    I can be expected to read something I sign. I have never read any EULA except for software that i thought was shady. And I only read to find out what they intend to do, not what I can't do because I never abide by any EULA.

    No rest for the weary. Even if its voted down, it will just come back at the next opportunity. That is why we don't get tired or frustrated, we stand strong and casually vote this crap down as many times as we have to.

    Obviously community internet will lead to community controlled media eventually squeezeing out cable/phone and every other communication medium. I don't blame the companies one bit. But I will blame the government if they let this happen.

    != is a single operator eventhough it uses two characters.

    My guess is this is just the fruits of an internal employee reward patent policy. MS execs probably did not even know about this, and its the engineers going wild. Just a guess.

    Actually I bought lexmark for myself, and my mother, and a friend whom I build a computer for.

    After lexmark shitted on me, through high prices and poor quality, I have now a Brother laser printer. I also got one for my mother. I wont ever buy Lexmark again. (I still don't buy gas from Shell nor drink Coke due to apartheid)

    Many consumers do not forget. And as a sort of Tech leader to the people I know, they will be loosing more than 1 customer.

    I'm somewhat in the embedded market as I am into automotive modules.

    This market is different because embedded developing compnaies are used to making all the profits off the products they produce. We are used to writing the complete software, and buying only say, a network or rf driver, if required.

    in the embedded supply market the money is made on selling developers tools that work with the _hardware_. And at INSANE prices too. The software is not a problem because we generally write our own OS.

    MS can make money in 2 ways.

    1. give away their OS and sell development tools around their OS.
    2. Get in bed with the hardware manufacturers, and get their OS conflated with the drivers (like they did with IE) then sell the 'OS' but they are really selling a driver.

    two things

    1. cars are designed and tested. All of these things are designed in when the car is impact certified in the US. Passing the test is not luck.

    2. Most of the values you specify are recorded in the airbag module. Modern modules use it to know when to deploy the bags. They dont rely on any contact or pressure sensors, they use accelerometers.

    No, Bermen is the dead horse. His episodes have always sucked mostly. You can identify the bermen episodes from the Roddenbury one in TNG without too much difficulty.

    Bermen always wants to write/choose a love story of sorts, and fails every time.

    Look at what Majel Roddenbury has done. Her stuff is much better than Bermen even. ST will continue to suck as long as Bermen is at the helm, so if other producers get the chance, pray they are accepted...

    Nope, we don't need that at all. All we need is to say that collectors of information are liable for whatever results from the use of the information they collected. And make it statutory.
