of course they didn't. I'm sure apple corp will arguing exactly what you said.
It seems totally mind boggling that apple computer did not know wtf they were doing. Obviously they should have licensed the use of the name in this context, rather than just break prior agreements in hopes that apple corps was too broke to sue. (or whatever their bone headed plan was)
So what does he mean "actually work?" This is how they _always_ worked. This is nothing new.
Anything worth compressing on the internet, is already compressed. Anything not worth compressing, such as web page text is well, not worth compressing.
First of all, the blatant advertising on YOUR domain is wrong, then the sorry ass nature of it with the tons of popups and such is distasteful.
Second, for that "coming soon" page to show up, they MUST have propagated an IP address into the DNS servers. This suggests they could have just as easily propagated YOUR IP address instead of theirs. Which gives them incentive to delay your processing.
Thrid, if they received ANY revenue off the advertising on your domain, aren't you entitled?
Register.com is not an ISP, but a registration service. This means they did not simply have pages loaded by default on his new server, which lots of ISPs do. They redirected the domain name to a different IP address than he intended. That domain name should have come up as "404-No Such Domain."
Thats bullshit. I am tired of this recent trend of requesting DDoSers and crackers to behave themselves. As if they are even a part of this community. They are not, and we should not be implying it.
It seems that businesses are allowed to cut jobs all they want for profit. The second some technology comes along that makes "the people" profit as opposed to the company, suddenly we need to protect jobs.
So fully expect to see these companies complaining about how if they dont tax VOIP, then they will loose x # of jobs...
Second, inevitably ISPs will claim it cost them to open up the rest of the ports, and you WILL get charged for it...
Third, cold day in hell when broadband is competitive to a majority of people in the USA.
I have 2 windows boxes and have yet to get infected. The way I see it, those that get infected eventually die off... Leaving only the fittest of boxen.
Most on the yahoo forum have come to believe SCO has put someone up to buying stock to keep the price high. This allows them to continue to cut deals by offering the option to buy SCOX stock at a highly reduced price (stock options) in exchange for business favors (i.e. SUNW).
Besides >45% of the stock is held by insiders, and probably another 20%-30% is held by funds. its a VERY illiquid stock with small public holdings. Practically you could call it a private company.
And for those that think SCOX stock is or was a good buy because the price is so high need look no further than the liquidity of the stock. Todays price may be $16 but sell 100,000 shares on the market and the price will drop instantly $2. So if your tossing around 100-10,000 shares, you can probably make a little change. any more than that, and you wouldn't be able to effectively cash out reliably.

I agree. Its win-win. Don't be a playa hater! I came up on microsoft. Many today will come up on linux. But many wont come up at all till they get to college.
Its a great idea!
We know they will learn almost exclusively microsoft products, but thats ok. They will be learning computers.
I wonder if Microsoft will eliminate their auditing for the school out of fear that they too would be found with 'illegal copies' of Microsoft products...
They charge extra for the extra 'service' they provide. In other words, they are not chargning for the cable or the signal, but for maintainance.
So if I say my TV upstairs is fuzzy, but they only had me down for 1 TV downstairs, they will charge me installation on the upstairs TV. I think thats how the scam works.
no its not recurring charges though.

SCO does not sell shares, they float them. Same thing I suppose, but its only done on certain occasions. Not on a daily basis. They have not floated any shares in a while, but they have handed out a lot of stock-options which is practically the same thing.
And as far as a specialist goes, the NASDAQ does not use a specialist but Market Makers. They are not as disciplined, thats why NASDAQ stocks are wildly volatile sometimes.
I do not disagree with your points here. I only suggest that the degree is worth something. Of course nobody gets a job just because he/she has a degree.
You have to start somewhere. If you do not support them, how will they be able to get their cert installed by default. You know MS and Sun and perhaps netscape likely don't allow root installs for free.
My biggest problem with this system is it does not have a trust model that I can see. I like PGP a lot better, where the trust can be increased. but if you didnt sign it, you cant really know anyway.
The mail server can not get out of the way. Remember, the end users are annoyed at the SPAM, but the ISPs have to pay for all the traffic. The ISPs will jump at the opportunity to eliminate the SAPM traffic. End user is to late for that.

Amazed that so many slashdoters don't know the difference between a registrar and an ISP.

Your kidding right? SCO insiders and "external" corporate buddies are the primary SCO stock holders.
The only ones making money off this highly volatile stock are the ones able to profit from shares without having to buy and sell them on the market.
Ill give you one guess who that is.
Well the business "financial" world only cares about press releases. When Linux releases a "press release" then they will post it.
And you'd be lucky then. Someone once told me, good news sells stocks. What else do you expect from stock brokers or the analyst that work for them??
Yes Im sick of it.

No, that would be the 'intranet.'
Speaking for the auto industry, this is completely untrue.
