    Rockets move exactly in the same way an Ion propulsion engine would move. By forcing mass out the rear. Unlike jet or propeller, a rocket ejects its fuel as a means to propel itself.

    You can always get an idea of the front side bus speed when you know the cache size. If its got goo-gobs of cache, then the FSB speed is probably relatively slow.

    Actually we already have this tax under the current system. Read your states tax code. 15 years ago when I ordered car audio parts from Crutchfield, I was obliged to put it on my state tax form, and pay tax.

    So when they say they need a tax, its a lie. So we should all be concerned about what they are REALLY after to sneak thru under the guise of taxes...

    I think the previous poster listened only to the 11 judge decision where they ignored the constitution and the arguments of the first court. So they gave the impression that they were not discussing a constitutional issue because the skirtted it.

    I guess they can have it both ways...

    SCO's interpretation is certainly correct. I predicted as much in the yahoo forums. It lends credence to the idea SCO has 'something.'

    Of course this is only good news for SCO and those invested in SCO. Suing end users is a tragic mistake, but suing HP for the same purpose is much more surgical...

    I do automotive systems engineering. So I have to analyze all the systems of a particular vehicle. Eventually I will present modified improved versions in schematic form.

    I find it much more helpful to initially draw schematics by hand. Freehand, not drafting style. This helps me to cache the systems implementations in my head. While drawing them in TurboCAD or Visio is pretty, it also distracts from the details. I have to think about the Tool to some degree. Also, I have to sit virtually shiftless for hours while I draw them.

    Hand and paper I find is much more relaxing and beneficial to the overall objective of understanding what I am doing (and not zoning out into autopilot.)

    Thats true but it does not matter.

    The quality of open source software is directly related to its desirability / popularity, in general.

    things like ssh, pgp, and mozilla are pretty high quality, and have fast turn arounds on bugs. Not perfection, but quite efficient.

    When I investigated CIPE for the first time two days ago, I read somewhere on the site that it didn't work yet, or that it provided no security. How can you critize a package for being insecure when they tell you it is?

    JSP existed before J2EE and can exist independently of J2EE. But J2EE includes JSP.

    This shows that the article writer probably only has a casual knowledge of Java and its various tools. Since he is the teacher, the trouble his students are having is likely taking queues from him...

    He suggests that Visual Basic is better than Java. I will refrain from comment, the quote speaks for itself.

    The JIT can optimize code based on the computer its running on, and not just a generic compile time optimization. So JITs have advantages as well.

    This happened to my mother just yesterday. She calls me complaining about "my computer has a virus!" I countered that their was no way her computer could know. This went on for a while..

    My mother is visually impared. She was trying to go to www.biblegateway.com, but she went to www.gatewaybible.com. sacreligious scum.

    It's hard for her to find the stupid MODAL popup windows when she is using a screen magnifier and the whole screen is not even showing...

    A DNS error would have been MUCH nicer. She would not have even called me costing my employer productivity. Currently I know somebody is wasting money on those parked domains. This verisign situation is just sad.

    Apple computers can and should simply sell music under a different name. Or license the apple name for selling music. Then when they get huge, announce a name change for their music business.

    If they have no IP address for you webhost, then the domain should remain as it was BEFORE you registered it. Why does your paying money to own a domain suddenly given them the idea to put something on YOUR property?

    What if I register, www.nospamcentral.com. just to reserve it till I get my host setup next month. In the mean time its redirected to this page displaying all these popup and pop-under ads. What do the people who visit my site think?

    You can't short the stock because the brokers are saving all the short shares for themselves. The stock market is the next bastion of corruption in the US. The NASDAQ is much nastier than the NYSE.

    The brokers are in the business of making money. Brokers _always_ make money.

    Well consider this

    1. SCOX is beign sued for stock manipulation related to the caldera IPO.

    2. On any news about SCOX the stock goes UP.

    3. Recall most news has been bad, stock still shoots up.

    4. Someone is painting the tape on this stock at the end of each day.

    This stock is totally being manipulated. Its an insiders game and I would stay FAR away from it. Their are too many legitimate stocks out their doing well that you can feel safe with your money in.

    If you really want to short, go to the yahoo finance message board on scox stock, and see what people are saying. We are expecting 9/15 to be a significant day as they will respond to RHAT suit, plus the quarterly report will be released. But given that all news makes the stock go up, I wouldn't hold out hope for shorts.

    Yes, thats the scam. If you tell them you have 3 TVs. They will "turn" on each one. Remember, homes are mostly already wired for cable. Our cable TV stayed on a year after we moved into the house. So when we called them, all they had to do is flip the switch.

    They insist on sending out a tech. Thats the first part of the scam. THen they ask how many TVs do you have? They dont tell you they intend to charge you for each one. All you knew about was the free installation. But it was free for 1 tv.

    So each TV they push the power button on gets an installation charge.

    its stupid.
